NOOB when it comes to the watch game. I've been told to check out the Omega Speedmaster. I can't afford the big boy rolex or AP watches, but love the look of the AP Royal Oak offshore. Any other recommendations in the 2-3k price range?

ForeLeft a little higher than your price range but the Panerai PAM000 is nice as well. You can find them slightly used for $3-4K

You can find a used 3575 (speedmaster) for that range, and it will give you great mileage. Fun to own, can dress up or down, and like with all things, you can really tinker with it in terms of what strap you put on it.

After a few years of coming up empty-handed at local ADs, I was in NYC on Saturday for a buddy's wedding and my wife encouraged me to stop into Watches of Switzerland, where I walked out with this. Got banged by the NYC tax but love the pickup.

TFixer5 yeah the sales rep didn't even offer after I asked if he'd take a little off the retail price to combat the taxes. I knew it was a big ask given the demand for the watch.

CLTGamecock The hunting and waiting for something specific is always nice when it happens. At the end of the day it's a nice outcome and story that came about from an unexpected trip. When you're the first owner knowing what secondary and the entire watch market is facing it just make it that much more sentimental. It's always the hunt and patience for me. Now comes that stressful wait where you try not to get that first scratch on that bracelet!

Eddie thanks! I had the TT YG 41 DJ2 in the Wimbledon dial. Ended up getting rid of it and quickly regretted it. My dealer called me about the rose gold in 36 and I jumped on it. Now i much prefer my 36 than my other 40mm sport watches.

I realized I didn’t have a GMT in my collection, and because I literally jump back and forth between timezones on a weekly basis and communicate with Asia, actually need the functionality 🤣. Totally different feel compared to the Daytona. I thought I wanted the root beer but when I had both in hand, it was actually the jubilee bracelet which I thought I would never buy that made me go blro.
