KentonQ I don't think you can go wrong with a Zenith, especially if you are looking for a chrono. The things you may want to consider in your purchase decision is value retention and the owner of the Zenith brand. A watch for a few hundred dollars, value retention doesn't matter but when you are considering a few thousand it may become a part of the picture. That is the reason why Rolex and Patek Phillippe are successful over the long-term.
I would buy from a reputable grey market watch dealer to avoid a significant loss of value if you ever wanted to move it along for something else.
LVMH owns Zenith and for some that isn't very appealing. I don't consider Zenith a "fashion brand" but some may and that is exactly what has happened with the Heuer to Tag Heuer to Tag Heuer LVMH, Bvlgari, and Hublot brand images. The watch world is pretty fickle. Generally about tradition and as ownership changes so does that feeling towards tradition.
