When I first heard about this shaft, I was very skeptical. It couldn’t be better than those shafts I have staking in my basement, especially at that price tag.
But, like a true club hoe, when Don told me he could get it at a better price, I figured why not give it a try 😂
With my senior swing speed, I got the 505 flex.
Don was nice enough to build the shaft for me at 45.5, no tipping and no tape. 😜
Yesterday, I was finally be able to get on the course after a few weeks off.
Paired autoflex with sim 2 max 9 deg.
My first impression was, “wow, this thing launches high and it carries!”
I carried 5 to 10 yards further than my other driver, sim regular with AD XC.
My misses were mostly left. When I tried to jump on it, I got couple nasty hooks. But, I think it might have something to do with my swing, not the shaft.
Overall, I’m very impressed. Definitely need more time on the range to get used to it. My swing is rusty after not playing or ranging for a few weeks.
Will spend more time at the range and course the next few days and report back.

Did you go black or rainbow? Don got me on the hook also. What an influencer.

I got the pink one. It got more attention than I anticipated. But whatever, as long as it performs, I can careless what color it is.

I took the Autoflex 505x out to the course with the two TSi3 heads that I have. One is an 8° and the other is a 9°. I also brought along a Ventus Blue to compare. The build on the AF is 45.75 at D0.5 and the Ventus is at 45.75 at D3.5.

Inside on TrackMan the 8° was the most ideal with the AF and the 9° with the Ventus. As you know it’s always better to test outside so this would be a good test. Both heads were set at A2.

On the range I started with the AF and each ball was dead straight and long. The Ventus looked to be the same with a touch lower ball flight.

I hit about two drives on each hole using ProV1s. The Ventus didn’t miss a fairway all day. The miss with the AF was left or I would thin it due to the swing weight. I did swap hitting each shaft first off of the tee to prevent any biases. When the AF was hit solid it was long. I hit one drive on a par 4 that plays 378 yards and I was 30 yards from the pin. Granted this was down wind but it was still very impressive. I was still missing the AF left so I switched heads and went with the 9° set to C1 to try and minimize the left miss. This seemed to be what I needed as I then hit every fairway. The AF was about 15 yards longer than the Ventus. I feel like the ball flight might be a touch high so I will try the 8° at C1 later this week.

The pic with the white line shows a 17 yard gap between the Ventus and AF

That’s all I have for now but I will be playing again later this week and can report back

Played my second round today with AF/sim 2 max combo. I thin a few shots, most likely due to swing weight like Don said. But, my goodness, my good tee shots were long, easily 20 yards or more longer than my other driver.
still need more time to mess around with the setting but for now I’m in the honeymoon stage with this combo lol
I did turn the loft down a few notch and it seemed to bring the flight down a little.
