I can honestly say two things ruined it for me when it comes to SC and in the end they are the same.... one is the gallery and the other is the new “collectors” that are just there to supplement their income.
Look I love a good hustle. And I know a lot of collectors started or built their collection from flipping. But the people that hunt the gallery releases that are really only available to those living within a couple hour drive killed it for me. Anything you collect should be fun. It wasn’t fun seeing the best releases only being available to me on the 2nd hand market at silly prices. Golf addictions are already expensive enough. The new “collectors” turned into the gamers, who crushed the market and sky rocketed prices. I just kept getting a bad taste.
I went from 7 or 8 CT’s down to 0 and EBay auctioned all my covers and honestly it felt good. I also like to use everything I own. being a collector that uses what you have is the best in my opinion. Unfortunately in a lot of the new collectors that gets frowned upon because you’re killing their values. Which again, to me, dumb.
Don’t get me wrong though, if someone posted a good Knucklehead for a fair price, you’ll have my money real quick in hopes it’s the magic one!
