If Cam Smith goes to LIV he will turn out to be like every other Aussie to win a Major. A fluke that cant get it done but once.

My man Feherty going to LIV too.
I thought Gooch went LIV, and the players who played were removed from Rankings?
No kidding, not that the USAToday is a credible news source, but still it made their front page...
Jason Kokrak , Henrik Stenson
, and Charles Howell III
OffTheDole So no one anyone cared about. Was really all the hype they were talking about.
dbenick3 That's not that easy, they will have to make many changes to their format to qualify. Plus all these guys world rankings are going to drop to the gutter. So even if they do get points they wont have enough ranking in the fields to propel them to the majors(for the ones that aren't exempt). So essentially if they want to play majors they will have to play more golf I guess on the Asian tour. Which is exactly what all of the sited for joining that they dont want to do. (ohh and grow the game henrik stenson is a idiot)
48 points for tigers tourney (20 players), 26 for this week's 3m(full field). That is why it is important for liv to get as many as top 100 guys they can.
dbenick3 Yeah but that's just the problem these guys aren't going to be top 20 anymore if they don't get points. There is a year application process which could take even longer. In just a year these guys world ranking is going to go in the gutter. Wait till its only the guys with exemptions playing majors that will be the only way to get points for a whole year. The Hero is the one Tournament not a tour.
iennis hero, every wgc event. I would bet a good amount of money on that there we be world ranking points next year. To many top players to fail at this point. All this and we also haven't gone down the rabbit hole of the pga is going to probably lose their ass in court. People are going to realize the pga isn't as clean as everyone thinks it is.
and I don't want to hear they don't grow the game argument. Professional golf doesn't grow the game.
dbenick3 There is one wgc now not a factor. In one year these top players wont be top ranked anymore is the point I am making twice now. Their points will go down and go down quick of this stretch with no were to play. There is like 5 maybe 6 guys on LIV golf that are considered top players and stars maybe 2 right now. Litigation will be interesting, assuming everyone will wait to see what the DP world tour does then sue the PGA. So talking a year longer with no points except majors.
Growing the game you think LIV is doing this? What charity do they work with? did they just hold the adaptiveopen that can show people handicaps don't exclude you from golf? Do they support the first tee program to bring people who wouldn't normally pick up a club and play. The many many more other charitable things they do. You can like LIV that's fine but don't make it to be the end all be all for golf. Its money sportwashing pure and simple.
iennis I don't think liv is growing the game. I also don't think the pga tour grows the game. Was the pga tour so charitable before tiger? The first tee would go on without the pga tour. Don't confuse the pga tour, pga of America, and the usga. The usga ran the adaptive open.
One could say the pga tour is money washing with how bad it was 30 years ago. Less 1% of pga of America club pros are black. Golf is still generally an upper middle class white game.
