Pulled the trigger on a Shapland. Ditched the Jones which was an affordable way to decide on whether I like this type of bag. I wanted to try the Shapland to make it my full time bag based on the 4 way top, more pockets, and canvas material based on my tendency to play early rounds.

As much as I wanted to upgrade to a Mac I think the lack of a divisive top and essentially two pockets would limit me. Not that I carry a bunch of stuff but I like keeping my balls, tees, and other things separate.

ckay please let me know how these are. For some reason these remind me of the Ping L8 bags I grew up on

No Don. You do not need another bag 🤦‍♂️

dphatt I had the maroon Shapland bag for a bit and it was wonderful, no complaints. I just picked up a Tyler golf bag and an Eagles and Arrows bag will post reviews later this week

tinkerer how many of these bag companies are there? I can’t wait to see your review on them

MGS just did a best of Sunday bags article, I was surprised at how many I had not known about.

tinkerer was that your maroon bag for sale on WRX? I should’ve purchased it. That was a steal.

Got my Shapland a day after ordering. I got the navy bag. Fits 14 clubs without any issues. I’m a standard sized grip player with a standard pistol grip on the putter. Top divider is a little right with a driver, 3 wood, 2 iron, and a blade putter. Those that play a mallet will find it too tight.

This is everything I wanted in a carry bag. The materials are excellent. The rainhood is canvas as well in the matching color.

I’ll be taking it out next weekend and will update my post but first impression is I really like it. Going to load up my stuff tonight after the baby goes down.

          5 days later

First round with the new Stitch bag.

          Pros:

          1. Looks great
          2. Balance is fantastic

          Cons:

          1. Seams where the straps are sew are right at my pec fold and dig a little making them uncomfortable. An adjustment may help
          2. Pocket config isn't ideal and valuable pocket is so small I can barely get my hand inside it.

I think the most important question for all of the Mac bag users in this thread is do you carry 14 clubs?

Is this the SL2 bag? Bro, we need pics. How is the strap?

Mula I think the most important question for all of the Mac bag users in this thread is do you carry 14 clubs?

Great question, and to piggy back on this, how much of a minimalist take do Mac bag users go on? I'm not going to lie, I bring 5 balls to the course every time I play, because I know I'm going to flare a couple shots into the shit.

Not a Mac user here but I do consider myself a minimalist when it comes to loading my bag.

The only things I load any of my bags aside from clubs are:

A few long tees(just a handful as I rarely break a tee, and a handful can last me several rounds as I find a broken one for anything less than a driver off of the box)
1 sleeve, and 3 near new balls
          1 water bottle
          1 snack(nuts or a PB&J depending on the course)
          1 glove
          1 towel
          1 measuring device
          1 repair tool
          1 ball marker

Jones handled 14 clubs and the pockets were sufficient in the sense it fit these things but I didn’t have the separation I prefer. My new Shapland has enough pockets for me to separate my items so I’m not digging around.

            Eddie

I don’t carry Mac every round, sorta depends but mainly carry when playing 9

I will go with some setup along these lines...

            driver
            3h or 3W
            5,7,8,PW,54
            putter
tees, glove, 6 balls, bottle of water
range finder and wonder boom speaker

can usually make it around home course with that setup, wind conditions play a part in what I bring

Not Mac, but in my Jones, I carry 9 clubs, one rangefinder, one small bag of tees and coins (hehe), and then a small water bottle. That's really it, haven't tried any more.

Eddie exactly! I think I bring 6 with me, handful of tees and usually only carry D,3h,4,6,8,PW, 56. Definitely makes the bag lighter but lets you get a little creative out there with shots

When I use my Mac I either need the big boy double pocket to hold a dozen balls or I secretly hide another 2 sleeves of balls somewhere on 9 so I can reload with the quickness. If I’m on the tee sheet and it’s walking then it’s and Easter egg hunt if you’re observing carefully.

Mula at least with this set makeup you can use your mmProto’s. I’m still convinced that I’m going to come across the infamous missing iron at some point. The modern day Hogan 1 iron search.

Maybe I'm the odd one here. I usually always carry 14 clubs, that includes with my Mac bag. I usually do 14 clubs, a glove, range finder, 3-6 balls, and my JBL Clip speaker. Never an issue or too heavy IMO, but I guess everyone has their own tolerance for carrying stuff around for 18.
