I haven’t had any range time yet other than a Trackman session so I still need to work on the timing but did a little twilight around a short, tight muni. Hit driver on 6 holes, with two balls on each of them. The shaft has a dispersion I’m not used to. It is tighter than the last few shafts I have played. I purposely hit the toe twice to see what it does and it’ll hook but I’m left rough vs. hoping the ball sits quick which we all know a hook never does.
I did try to rip two shots and topped them both. I wouldn’t say that is a reflection of the shaft but me just not hitting a ball in almost 2 months and jumping off of it through impact.
Plan on going to the range this week to see how I make out with varying tweaks in the swing.
Takeaway for me is I think the shaft does what they say it does and tightens up dispersion. I’m not the most accurate driver of the ball and was pretty happy with what I saw out of the 12 swings I put on it.
Distance was never a problem for me, and I am hitting it as long as I expect myself to. The difference is I can do it with less effort. Hopefully I can produce good results with an all-in swing. If not, I’ll just have to restrain myself. I’ll know if I have gained anything from a distance perspective when I get back with my usual crew.
Last note, SIM MAX is a great feeling head compared to the SIM. Looking forward to hitting the range this week because the Trackman session from last week had me perplexed with the numbers.
