Super said he will quit if the winning score is under par. Course is still damp from morning dew I’m sure. When it dries up and speeds up that is when the carnage will ensue IMO.

    Putterho

Right?!?! From what I heard it's going to rain and soften things up a bit. Although, could make the rough even more gnarly (if that is possible) and they do have subair...after all the talk I thought things would be uglier this early.

Eddie Thankfully he's not the guy doing the actual setup this year. The USGA seems a little chastened from being pantsed at Shinnecock and getting praise for not screwing up Pebble.

DaHOF he’s FoS...he just doesn’t know if it’s gonna be left center or right center of the fairway.

Anyone catch what was going on with JT in the bunker with the official? I had it on mute at the time.

geaux was asking if he moved something that he thought was a rock and it turned out to not be a rock (clump of sand disguised as a rock) would he be penalized.

Some rumours on Twitter that the head greens keeper is pissed with the USGA over the easy set up.

Golfingfanatic Guy is pissed because he got caught on camera saying he will quit if the winning score is below par. I just don't see where the set up is easy. The fairways are obviously narrow, the rough is thick and lush, and you're not baking out these greens in 70* weather in September. Pin location I can understand, but you're not pinning them on the crowns of the greens all four rounds.

All I know is that if I pick Morikawa in my fantasy matchup, you are safe to bet your house against him. Hope he turns it around!

Eddie I enjoyed seeing the course and how it was played by the best golfers in the world. I had to bail out early afternoon but I thought the coverage was well done.

Eddie I would watch. It is amazing the shots these guys can hit from the positions they are in. It was fun to watch.

One of the announcers was talking about the lack of carnage. Said that they were afraid they didn’t have enough daylight if it was as tough as they wanted it to be. Should be much different after the cut.
