What rules of golf would you like to see changed?

leaving the flagstick in when on the green. Speed up play? Are you kidding me? If it’s a putt for a triple, it don’t speed up shit. Take the flag out. I also don’t hate if someone wants it in 🤷‍♂️

PAT for everyone. You have to pass/certify playing alongside pro or asst pro and graduate tee boxes based upon score and pace of play. Can't pass PAT from forward tees then you don't get to play six hour rounds from the championship tees fvckface.

Don't want to take a PAT or haven't taken PAT then you can stick to par 3 courses or chip n putts.

IMO get rid of OB. Make everything a hazard for any non-sanctioned event. Nothing like watching a random blast 3 balls off of the tee.

Jaybananapantsarthur I first heard about a system like this from Germany and was amazed. It would help so much with pace of play, and on top of that, help with etiquette so people know how to call fore and act respectfully! Playing at this tight muni in Birmingham, I've come within a yard of getting hit by a ball with no fore call at least 12 times this summer alone. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I know it won't change who the best in the world is, but I would love to see the PGA and the Korn Ferry play with nerfed equipment, similar to how baseball does. Whether that's limiting how far the ball/clubs go, playing less than 14 clubs, etc, I just want to see courses like NGLA, Shinnecock, AGNC, etc be able to stand up and show how insanely well-designed they are, and provide a legit test. As someone who has dreamed of playing those legendary courses on Long Island for as long as I can remember, seeing what the USGA did to Shinnecock was jaw-dropping

No more in course out of bounds. Not much of an issue at good tracks, but I've played some munis where I'd hit it into the next fairway over and you want to penalize me? Nah

I really want them to take away the dumba** rule you have to hit out of a divot...in the MIDDLE of a fairway. You should not be penalized for landing your ball where you are supposed to. It's dumb and an easy fix. Just do it already.

DaHOF I disagree. I think it is part of the quirky nature of golf that sometimes you get good breaks from bad shots and bad breaks from good shots. It's the rub of the green as they say.

While I get where you are coming from, and to an extent I agree, I think fairway divots shouldn't be part of it.

For example if I hit into a green and hit a sprinkler head that is buried into the rough and the ball bounces 30 yd away, that counts in my book as the quirky nature of golf. That sprinkler head is inexorably part of the course.

But when the players in front of me are too lazy to fix their divots and I get penalized for landing in a place where another player grossly neglected the basic courtesy of replacing or fixing divots, that's where I feel a quirky lie is not justified.

Another + on the dumbass fairway divots... they made some good changes last year and ignored the most glaring problem... even if it’s just in amateur golf. touring addies are pretty solid about replacing divots and those supers are amazing. Public tracks are littered with divots nowadays

I’m going to try and word this as lightly as possible, I’m not trying to down talk or hurt feelings. I just can’t type good, it’s my fault, I went to audio school....

I understand the frustration of hitting a divot in the FW after a good tee ball. Happened to me twice in “competition”. I say when it happens, “well this fucking blows”. Never has it gone through my mind to add a fucking rule for it. Ever. I’m not the best player on this planet, in Texas, in Houston, or in this forum but, you’ll never see me complaining about a “bad break” which that’s exactly what that is. Hit your shot and move on 🤷‍♂️ Both times resulted in pars for me. I don’t see it as a mind fuck that kills the round. I have a bag full of shit that can do that for me, this ain’t one of them.

If you make a rule “move your ball out of a divot in the FW”. I’ll vote for a rule that says “if you hit into the trees and your ball bounces into the FW, you must place it back into the trees.” To me, same-same 🤷‍♂️

I respect all opinions, that’s what all of these are, including mine. None of us are wrong, just nobody is right 😂. Until then, I’ll play from the divot and say “this is horseshit” every damn time. The Golf Gods always pay it back.

Ok. I will argue for the sake of arguing. I don’t mind if the divot is sand filled or whatever but when I am in a crater from some asshat who has no respect for the game then that pisses me off. Hell the rules have changed that you can now pat down spike marks on the greens. That used to be a “bad break.”

”cart sand jugs”, taken out of carts/push carts (in Houston at least) because of Corona. No chance to fill FW divots. Was Corona the bad break there?

I’ll also say, sand filled vs not, I’d take not all dang day. Sand filled is an illusion the divot is filled, it’s not. You just created a mini bunker 😂😂😂. I also always fill my FW divots (if the cart has the jugs. Jugs, love that word 😂😂
