I am a sucker for buying stuff and this has me intrigued. I suffer from getting enough sleep and I wonder if this would help. The $30 a month this is kinda ridiculous to me though.
Any thoughts?

dphatt so I have one. And have had it over a year. First I thought it was going to be a juiced up Fitbit. Or Apple Watch But it’s nothing like that at all. It tracks heart rate and respiratory rate in order to track your strain vs recovery. I love it for all the in depth of data that it tracks and shows. If you’re a numbers guy and really like to get into the weeds with data and stat tracking. It’ll be right in ur wheelhouse
I don’t know much about Whoop but people are buying grandfathered devices to avoid the subscription.
Bought one a couple weeks ago. There were a bunch of 15% off codes roaming around. Honestly can’t remember which one I used but it was from someone posted on their IG. Im sure I’m not reading the data and everything properly but the sleep stuff is pretty eye opening. I really need to sit down and get more into it to understand it.
Code I used for 15% off is “EAL”
Noyes26 if you keep an eye on matching. Your recommended strain for the day based on your sleep performance and recovery. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.
PureStickGolf that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing. This past week was the first time I’ve been getting my recovery numbers into the green and you are right I do feel better.
I can’t stop having my mind blown by the sleep stuff. Where I think I’m getting 7-8 hours of sleep and in reality I’m only getting 6-6.5 is eye opening. That with the strain of walking and playing 18 holes vs a 30 min peloton ride...
$30 a month?
Noyes26 my biggest thing is recovery being affected by alcohol. 1 drink 2 drinks makes a Big impact on my sleep quality and recovery overall
This is great info so far. I want to hear from someone who has hated it. Give me a reason not to get it beyond the $30 a month
The $30 a month turned me off personally. My question is how does the Apple watch not have this functionality? My guess is it's coming, but it's just a guess.
TFixer5 Garmin running watches have it to some degree, likely not exactly the same. But Garmin has stress score based on heart rate monitoring, recovery recommendation post avtivity, sleep monitoring etc .. all without monthly recurring. If you know what to look for in heart rate graphs you can even detect (loosely) when you're getting sick i.e. you're body fighting off a cold.
I started using one 2 weeks ago. I like it because I can actually wear it when I play. I hate wearing an Apple Watch or any watch for that matter while playing. The sleep data and schedule has been the most helpful so far. It continues to get better each week as it learns more about my body and schedule. It has made me sleep more and learn a lot about my respiratory system and heart rate.
TFixer5 Apple Watch won’t have this functionality unless they fundamentally change how the watch needs to be charged. My wife’s Apple Watch has an 18 hour battery life (on a good day) she could never use it to track a day’s worth of activity and sleep. The whoop never comes off as the charger slides onto your wrist.
CLTGamecock yeah. The battery is the issue from what I understand. Mine last about 30 hours.
Use code NOLAYINGUP for 15% off
Ordered one a day or two before this thread. Like others, some sleep insight is what I am in search of and I hear Whoop is great for that. I don't exercise as much as I would like to or eat quite as well as I should, but I'm not too bad in either aspect. Latest doc visits suggest I'm healthy, but I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping well consistently. Hoping I can dial in some strategies to assist with that.
WB3 I've been using the Sleepwatch app on my Apple watch for about a year. I like the data it gives me although it overestimates my sleep time because it thinks I'm sleeping when I am laying in bed trying to sleep. I also like the HR dip data it gives......especialy the differences I see when drinking before bed and when not. Will be interested to hear what you find with the Whoop!
