@ekaj had requested a review so I figure I add a few thoughts. I have played a blade putter for most of my golf life. Newport TeI3 as a junior, to a Studio Design 1 in college, and then a plethora of tour Camerons and a few boutiques. A few seasons ago, I went to a Fastback Select and had some good success with it. Had a great balance, aim and stroke. Over the off-season I decided to sell it and go back to blades. I had bought a T22 for nostalgia and really wanted to game it well. I was also on a feverish search for another 009 or Timeless. I putt well with the T22 on a PuttOut mat all offseason and during quarantine but it did not translate to the course. My search for a CT came to a screeching halt. Frustrated and scouring all sorts of sites for a good deal, I found a MySpider X with a flowneck. I’ve never played the previous generations and just pulled the trigger out of desperation. From the first warmup before my tee time to the 18th hole of my first round with it, I was extremely impressed with its performance. It is extremely stable. I was back to aim and stroke with the confidence of thinking I will hole virtually every putt. From the perspective of actual roll, I find that the ball rolls more true. I practice putts with a Chrome Soft with the 3 line aid and find that the ball rolls end over end more consistently. With the blade putters, the lines would shift leading me to believe that the ball wasn’t rolling as soon as I would like. Definitely stroke related but the insert probably helps me resolve that issue. I don’t have any opinions on the KBS CT shaft other than it feels a bit stiffer than a YSC or the current Cameron stepless variant from I believe Nippon. Now whether somebody should go single bend, or slant neck I do believe the flowneck is a great option situated in between the two retail options. The problem is you will just have to take a leap of faith on it as you probably won’t find one to demo at your retailer. I have a round on Sunday, and what I look forward to most is making some putts oddly enough. I am in the process of looking for another on eBay and various BSTs as a back up. I may even just pull the trigger directly from TM. TLDR: Do I think the Spider X is the best putter made? No. Do I think it’ll save you a few putts a round? I don’t know. Does it give me confidence that I will put a good roll on the ball and find the hole? Yes! Golf has a huge mental component to it as we all know, and the Spider X makes me feel like an assassin and my playing partners saw it first hand a couple of weekends ago.

Piggyback with my experience. I've been through the ringer with putting for the past few years. Went from three putting once in awhile to three putting a lot each round. How bad did it get? In California last year someone gave me a less than one foot tap in for birdie and said, "that's good man, I don't have the heart to watch you try to make that". Same journey as CK, was always a Newport or Newport II shape player. When things went south I dabbled with some mallets but ultimately one of two things would happen: 1) placebo for a week or two, or 2) I would stub the leading edge prior to striking the ball. Fast forward to about a month ago, Don visited for a round and I asked if I could roll his. Two practice putts was all it took to see that at address I liked what I saw. Went home and ordered one. So by now I have somewhere between 8 and 10 rounds under my belt with it. Overall will say best results I've had with any putter in the past two years. Rolls true, distance control and proximity to the hole on missed putts is significantly improved and I have so much more confidence stepping up to putts. I still have moment here and there where my stroke looks like I just finished my 89th cup of coffee for the day but nothing like it was prior to the Spider X. Biggest improvement I have seen is putts in the 5 to 10 foot range with consistency. Not making boatloads but my playing partner (member here) will likely attest that I'm just missing (lots of edge burning). I need to spend more time practicing and likely alignment ... currently invest about an hour total time practice putting per year and that includes any practice putting before a round. Keeping it in the bag and like it enough that I submitted an order via MySpiderX for a custom jobber late last week. Right for everyone? Who knows. Worth a shot? I'm not disappointed that I did in the least.

I'll throw my experiences in here. I've been a fan of MOI TaylorMade putters for a while, back to their huge spiders with half ball alignment aids, the spider blade with the two tone paint, the DJ/Day spiders, etc.. I'm a fan of putter makers who try different ways to make the game easier for us. I enjoyed the original Spider line, I preferred the Day model over the DJ model because it was a touch softer. For me, the lack of alignment line proved to be a pain, as I was very line dependent back then. When the SpiderX came out, I immediately wanted it because it looked more compact. Last July I ordered a MySpiderX, with the flow neck. I am not a face balanced putter fan, so it was either slant neck or flow neck for me. I don't mind the slant neck version at all, as I currently have a Chalk slant neck that I really enjoy putting with. The only issue with the MySpiderX I originally ordered was I ordered it without any line, hoping the white track would be enough to align. The other problem was I ordered one of the color inserts that was firmer than the retail model, and hated the feel. I am not a fan of the full sightline, as it is so long it was a pain to make sure it is lined up properly. So this time around, I practically ordered the exact same putter but with a short T sightline as it creates the illusion of the width and sightline of a traditional anser variant shape. Also went white face to keep the soft feel. For me, I love the roll the SpiderX puts on the ball. I agree with the others that it rolls the ball a touch further than a traditional non groove blade in my experience. My putting goes awry when I am on slow greens and try to hit putts instead of roll them, so I love using this on slower greens. On fast greens, my Cameron is still my goto. One of the things I was worried about with a Spider is that I would never want to go back to a blade putter again. I've tried the Squareback 2 and other widebodied putters that I felt would be similar to my timeless but with a little extra forgiveness but with mediocre results. Also, using those putters made the Timeless feel too foreign for some reason. But with the SpiderX, interestingly enough, I can go back and forth between putters and feel fine. If anything, applying the same kind of carefree stroke on the blade than I do when I putt with the Spider re-affirmed that it's the Indian not the arrow. I putt with equal confidence with both the Timeless and the SpiderX. I'm currently using a slant chalk SpiderX and absolutely love it, with a flow neck SpiderX in silver on it's way. I can use the slant or flow neck interchangeably, just prefer the way the flow neck frames the ball at address more. The best part about getting a Spider is now you have another excuse to get a whole bunch of covers, you can buy both blade and mallet covers hahahaha.

I'll add this post mortem. The first thing I did when I received mine was go to my club late evening to practice putt. I know, I said I don't practice putt but this was an exception and I wanted to try a different approach to a new putter. Took half a dozen balls with me and spent a full hour on the practice green. Started off with short putts, 1 - 3 feet to get a feel for putter and gain confidence of seeing ball go into the hole. Increased distance gradually as confidence grew. By the time I was finished with that session I had confidence from 5ft and in, felt almost too easy. Also had a good feel for the overall pace of the ball off the putter face and lag putt feel/confidence. Maybe the single smartest thing I've done golf wise in a long time.

I’ll add my shitty experience here with the Spider, Gamed a Concept 1 Long Neck Rat for about a year. Loved the look, putted like shit with it. Moved to a spider and haven’t looked back (although I want to). I’ve rolled a Spider for three years now. From 10’ and in, I have a very good chance of making a putt. With the long neck, I knew I’d miss. All that said, my lowest qualifying round with the rat was a 77. Lowest with the Spider is a 73 (missed a 5’ birdie putt on the last to shoot even 😂). Does it save strokes? It’s saved my ass the past two qualifiers, so yes, to me, it’s saved a ton of strokes. Enjoy your stick bro 🤙

Haven't gone stability shaft yet, need to keep that card in play so I have something to fall back on if the stock putter starts going sideways. 👍💪

This is the aluminum black insert. I think the white one is the only one that is 80/20. I didn’t spec this putter, I bought it from the WRX classifieds. I don’t have any complaints on the insert. If I do my own build for a back up I would stick with the aluminum insert.

I’m 50/50 on the Stability Shaft right now. Need more work with it for sure. Long putts have me sucking ass. But, from 15’ it’s wonderful.

I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one but another question.... Is the custom program the only way to get a flow neck? I only see flow neck as a MySpiderX listing...

I would say this about the slant neck.

On traditional putters, we associate slant short necks to be massively gated stroke putters, but on the SpiderX that is not the case, so I would give it a shot before committing to a flowneck.

Eddie appreciate that...I'll try one before committing. 7° difference in toe hang might not be as big of an issue as I'm thinking it might.

Another thing I would say is the pistol gt 1.0 grip on the spiderx is growing on me.

I've traditionally been flatso ultra/1.0 or no other Superstroke grip, but the pistol gt 1.0 with the spider head seems to work really well. Aside from the fact that 1/3 of them come out of the box crooked as shit, it's a great grip. @huntingchris0000 Another thing to check on your MySpiderX before you ditch it.

Glad it helped. To be honest, there isn’t a huge difference in terms of flow, the main difference is how they setup at address. The slant neck maintains the sharp lines associated with the putter, the flowneck does soften the look at address, to some it’s a bit weird, to some it’s a welcome sight. I’ll take more pics later.
