For about the last year or so, I've been using the TP5 primarily, with the TP5x on windy days. The ball has served me well. I'll buy a box of every company's ball each year and try. I have a bucket where I throw all my eagled balls into, and just looked at them, and realized that they are all... ProV1s. Which leads me to an internal struggle, the ball I enjoy using or the ball that has helped me have all my eagles? Hm. I'm contrarian by nature, so I've always looked for an alternative to the ProV1, but damn it's a good ball. What ball are you guys using and why?

I'm very similar. I like playing TaylorMade and Callaway balls because everyone seems to play ProV1s and I tend to play them pretty well. Buuuuttttt, I can't argue with how consistent and reliable the ProV1 is so I always seems to have a few in the bag "just in case"

Pro V1x is my ball of choice. Second will be TM’s tour ball when they’re on sale.

I'm a Pro V1 guy, but should just spend more time hunting lost balls on the course and use those.

TFixer5 I bought a bunch of mint Pro V1x PRACTICE balls a while back and for some reason those always stay in play. As soon as I crack open a new sleeve, they seem to love going into the woods. Must be a defective batch 😂

I've been a TP5x guy for a long time, but recently tried the new Bridgestone and really enjoyed it. I'm buying a box to give it a full test.

Still have some K-Sig 4 piece from the OG release I am using funny enough (I don't play enough golf) and before that I loved the feel of TM Project A balls. My game just isn't good enough to warrant a pro level ball but I've also never had a ball fitting so no idea what I should be using. I did used to rock the Bridgestone E6 before I found the Project A....

If I got free golf balls... Taylormade TP5x.... but seeing how I have to pay for them.... Srixon Z-Star XV. On cooler days (not that I have many in So Cal).... Q-Star Tour. I've always liked the Taylormade golf balls.... TP Red, Penta, Lethal, Tour Preferred X.... but the XV just performs for me (both on the course and in my wallet) and I like the feel.

For years I used ProV1-x. Then when they switched the setup between the ProV1 and X version (wtf?), I kind of started using Chrome Softs (because I dug the different Truvis designs). I played those for a while, and still do to an extent, but kept dabbling with other balls like the TP5x. However, after giving the new Bridgestone ball a try, I have made the switch. I now either game a Bridgestone B-X or the Bridgestone B-XS (I haven't landed on which one I like more yet). They fly off the driver, have great spin around the greens, and it is one of the most durable balls I've ever hit. Overall, it's a winner in my book.

ProV1x or TP5x Snell MTBx mid range Wilson FLI or Maxfli UFli Soft on the cheap

Mainly use the TP5, but am somewhat interested in trying the Tour B XS.

raywutang LS is wonderful for a high spin player off the tee, its responsive on and around the greens. Only downfall is you catch absolute heaters out of the rough. Its extremely unpredictable, which is tough to play.

I’ve played this whole year with the CSX LS and I have to say I have really enjoyed it. Probably the most consistent ball I have ever hit off the tee but still really soft and responsive around the greens.

Played the Left Dash pro V this year the entire year. Overall pretty happy. Only area I wasn’t impressed with was lack of spin on short game shots. Balls kind of just skipped into the greens. 1-2 hop and a small release

Switched to the the tp5 for the last couple rounds of the season and holy cow am I impressed. Launch is really good and finally back to spinning balls back a few feet. Just ordered me a dozen of the $ball pix.

pfdz launch is roughly the same. I’m actually hitting it further and straighter with the tp5. Have hit my furthest couple drives of the year these last few rounds as well. Couple 340+!

Still pretty firmly in the prov1 camp, mostly due to how well the enhanced alignment version sets up for me on putts.

For the last year I’ve been swapping between the ProV1x and TP5x. Checks all of the boxes I look for in a golf ball. However, I finally gamed the Vice Pro Plus (got a dozen for really cheap) and was blown away at the performance. Not exactly sure why it took me a long time to play these but better late than never. It had a great ball flight off driver, high flight in the approach and definitely soft around and on the greens. I also hit them out of the sand and came away with very minimal damage, so durability is not an issue. These may be my new gamers, we’ll see if they stay for the long run.

kdotp TP5X and Prov1X are on opposite sides of the spin spectrum. How come these are your go to’s?

icec0ld i too gamed the Q Star Tour for a bit and liked them a lot. I say they performed like a high quality ball. The only thing I found wrong with them and this is all preference, is I wished they were softer around the greens and off the putter face.

Noyes26 it really just comes down to how I am playing that day and the courses I am playing. On longer courses I use the TP5x because of the lower spin especially if I am trying to go after it. I started gaming the ProV1x because I received a few dozens from clients and I loved how they felt around the greens and in the approach.

I switched back to the Vice Pro after playing the TP5x all summer. I don't think there's much difference off the tee, but around green I think the Vice is on par with the ProV1.
