Anyone have any experience with Belle Meade? I’ve heard a few folks mention it so I snagged a bottle the other day. Going to try and crack it open for a taste sometime this week.
WB3 Good stuff! If you can find the cask strength or single barrel select cask strength pick one up for sure!
BirdiesandBourbon nice! Looking forward to testing it out. I will keep an eye out for your recommendations.
side note: you the same Birdiesandbourbon from IG? If so, great tastes in bourbon and high crowns!
WB3 Yes I am and thank you very much!
Moni_SLO Have you tried K&L? They seem to have decent offerings, though I'm mainly a Scotch/Asian whisky drinker more than bourbon, haha.
titleistforged you know it.....it's been my local for years now. Just snagged a Yama12 from them funny enough (along with a Nikka FTB). I think I've put a couple of the LA homies onto K&L as well. I actually have a bunch of shit sitting up there that I need to grab when I'm back in the Bay next month. Usually on K&L once or twice a week if they are going to be dropping some of that good good. Most of the stuff you'll see me post is from K&L, they are great people!
Hey boys...bumping this back up to ask a favor. I want to get a good bottle of SOMETHING. Not picky particularly, but bourbon is obviously a high choice. Was supposed to get married next week but COVID so waiting a year. No big but I am headed to National Parks instead and I need something strong and fun that's a higher occasion deal. I need something to sip on while I'm in the hot tub overlooking one of these cold rivers. $50-100 range or so. Thanks!

Red Breast 12 Cask Strength
Thats immediately where my mind went. Irish 🥃. Maybe 70-90$. Bourbon is so played out it’s stupid, over priced and you can’t find it, no offense to the Bourbon boyz.
gfranktw7 It's just so hard to find anything so my favorite is Old Forrester 1920 which is readily available for like $60. YUM
bigjohntripod ain't that the truth...I tried to find some of the bottles suggested earlier in this thread with no luck. I don't have time to be chasing bourbon around so I'll just have to be content with the common folk stuff.
bigjohntripod Putterho thank you boys I’ll give ‘er a look later today
mljones99 Brooooo exactly. I’ve got zero time to chase boutique joints. I’m cool with my Highland Park 12 and Red Breast CS. I was on a Bookers kick until the went from $55-$65 to 100+. Like what? Beat rocks, I ain’t paying that. I have other shit I need to buy like, $16 socks and $40 tees and unnecessarily high priced golf shoes. 😂😂😂😂😂
Putterho if the 1920 is the 115 proof then I second this!
Putterho Agree with JC here on the 1920. Actually I'd also add that Eagle Rare is pretty readily available near me at most grocery stores and it's less than $40 which to me is a steal for a 10 year. But I do love me some high proof 1920!
Moni_SLO I havent heard someone say readily available and Eagle Rare in the same sentance for over a year. I was starting to think that it was living up to its name actually becoming "Rare."
Putterho I overheard a lady at the liquor store ask the clerk about Eagle Rare and the clerk chuckled and said good luck. So at least here it is not easy to find.
Putterho Yah for a bit it was tough but the last 6 months I've seen it everywhere. Tons in stock at my local liquor store (when I used to live in the Bay and now still order and just pick it up from there when I'm up for work/visiting)

Putterho I keep telling you, anytime you need it holler. It is in every grocery store near me for a 10 mile radius as well as every liquor store. About the ONLY palatable bourbon available on the regular out here.
I agree with @Putterho If you are looking for higher proof OF1920 is excellent and not impossible to find. Wild Turkey Rare Breed, 4 roses small batch select, and jack Daniels single barrel barrel strength (don’t sleep on this one) are some other great options that you should be able to find.
BirdiesandBourbon thank you! I went with that one for now and will add the others to my future lists. Thanks all!
