Well sad news. The TW irons are gone.

I had them all setup in my spec, and the lofts 2 degrees strong to try to blend with the 790s.
The clubs hit my carry gaps fine, but the issue was left.
For some people, it's probably not a big deal, but bending the irons strong had the handle further forward at address for me, or else the face would want to turn down a touch.
The strength of my game is my iron play, put me on a par 3, and if I'm not within 10 ft, I'm disappointed.
What I started to see was that I would miss my short irons with the TW a touch left, and it kept happening. Put the 790 short iron back in my hand, no issues.
So it's no indictment on the iron, as they felt amazing, but to get them to blend the way I wanted, it wasn't going to work.
My 6 and 7 irons in the 790 are 2 degrees weak so I couldn't weaken them anymore.
The other reason why I wanted to get the TWs was to reduce the occurrence of big jumpers out of flyer lies with the short irons in the 790s. I can manage that with mid and long irons, but when it's 160 out and you have to smooth a PW because you know it will jump, it's just mentally hard to do.
Well with the TWs, I didn't see a change. The first three rounds, I couldn't tell you the number of greens I airmailed. Two of those rounds were with Don and he just laughed every time, because as soon as I would hit the shot, he would start yelling "down down down down" to no avail.
Little birdie told me the 760 replacement will be coming soon, that will be the next set for sure.
In other news, the VR7 is fabulous. Absolutely fabulous.
here is the last ball with the TWs. I will miss you 😕
