Underrated non-Exotic Shafts

We all know the expensive shafts have their benefits etc.. but there are a lot of “non-upcharge” shafts that don’t get enough credit.

I think the Hzrdus smoke line, from driver down to hybrid shafts, is fantastic. In the right flex, plenty of launch with reduced spin, and decent feel with the way they softened the butt side of the shaft.

The graphics are just flat out boring. 🧐

What other shafts do you like that go neglected?

The original HZRDUS Black wasn’t very good for me but the Smoke Black is awesome in my UDI.

Cdnrockies competes with many high end shafts on the regular. If you can get same or similar results with that, TOUR for $40 all day

I currently play the Diamana D+ Whiteboard in my driver. Seems pretty boring and understated, but it works for me (most of the time).

+1 to HZRDUS Smoke, I really like them as well. I get along well with low/low shafts. Agreed that the graphics are zzz.

Briefly had a Fuji Atmos Blue Tour. Stock offering in the F9, does that count?

Back in the day the most underrated shaft IMO was the Grafalloy Prolite 35
Now the stock no upcharge Diamana S+ D+ that you can get from Titleist or mizuno are pretty dang good

MatthewASim the Prolite 35 certainly wasn’t underrated. Every gear head I competed with during that era had a Pro Lite, or an EI-70. They were most likely the first generation of aftermarket graphite shafts that made it “big” before the Diamana hit the OEM line with $700 TM TP offerings. I remember looking at a 500 Series TP with a Diamana in it and a sticker price of $699 or $799 and thinking WTF??

ckay haha fair enough, no one really talked about it until later on when they were gone, the shaft at that time was the speeder 757 when it first sort of came out.

That “Tour Issue” Project X that came stock in 910D and 910F.

also, and don’t laugh, whatever stock shaft was in my Dymo2 driver back in the day. I miss that ugly beast.

on nostalgia. Seemed like every 975D I’ve seen being played had a Pro Lite or EI-70.

I remember back in my 975D days, the Proforce yellow shaft. In fact, a friend of mine still games that shaft today, albeit on a M5 head. Bombs it. Makes you wonder that old tech sometimes still works great.
