Anyone tried the Taylormade Sim 5 wood (vs. a G410)?

So, I currently carry a Miura driving iron. Haven't carried a hybrid in the last 6 months, but keep toying with the idea of giving a 5 wood a try. Anyone given the TM Sim 5 wood a try? Thoughts on it versus a typical hybrid. When thinking about a new 5 wood, I also thought about giving the G410 a try (which is my current 3 wood). I love Callaway drivers, but never got along with their fairway woods or hybrids. Would love anyone's thoughts before I drop coin on a new 5 wood experiment.

I've heard the SIM fairways are absolutely phenomenal. like illegal good.

I've always found Callaways great off the tee...but too big for the fairway/rough, basically anything off the deck.

I'm a huge fan of the 5 wood. Just went back to one (actually the sexwood), and it's gonna be hard to go away from. I'm paying the g410.

ForeLeft Yeah, I keep hearing the same. My Ping G410 3 wood is stupid easy to hit off the deck or tee. But I've heard such great things on the SIM it has me wondering about a 5 wood.

The 5 wood is good J, similar to how epic sz 5 wood was highly regarded as well.

A 3 hybrid compared to a 5 wood isn’t really an apples to apples comparison. The lofts might be the same but the shafts lengths are totally different. The SIM being titanium might give you numbers that are too close to your current three wood. If you are looking for a 5 wood I would get the matching head because it gives you the same look at address. It will also give you the same type of numbers that will give you the proper gapping.

To me hybrids do not have to match as they are a totally different animal.

BTW I will have a mint to new G410 19 degree hybrid listed tomorrow for cheap

dphatt great point on the titanium issue. I keep oscillating on whether to go for a 5 wood or hybrid. Got tired of hybrids a while back because I was pulling/hooking them just too damn much.

I've only hit the M5 5 wood, but that thing definetly went too far for a 5 wood. The SIM max 5 wood is massive, so I'd check that out in person, before you buy.
The Ping on the other hand is a lot more shallow. Very easy to hit off the deck, but slightly spinny.
If I were you, I would go for a M6 Tour head with the solid scoring lines. Slightly smaller than a retail M6 and you'll know the exact specs.
