Bro. Stability Shaft... How is it? Worth the cost? Been looking at those since last year! Would be put on a Spider also.

I am going to order a Spider X with Stability shaft but I need flow neck

bigjohntripod I absolutely love it. I was very skeptical at first but once I put it in I started making more putts. I tried it in a blade and hated it. I also tried the tour version because it looked better but the results were not great. I have a backup SpiderX with the stock shaft and you can definitely feel the weight and stiffness of the stability over the KBS shaft

dphatt The install on a spider is different no? Because of the double bend? I have a backup Spider and a KBS “putter shaft”. If you installed the KBS and chopped it, the Stability shaft would go over it right? And what’s that Stability shaft price? 👀😬

bigjohntripod the single bend or face balanced model uses the .390 diameter. You have to cut the existing shaft and slide the stability shaft over it. The flow neck versions are .370 and come with a tip that replaces the old shaft

How do you like the fujimoto practice iron?

Golfingfanatic I was skeptical about it when I first got it. It is tiny. The first few shots included a few hosel rockets which was discouraging but once I got into a groove it was pretty good. After hitting 30 balls, it makes my current clubs look super easy to hit. I recommend it.

Golfingfanatic I hit it a few weeks ago when playing with @dphatt and it’s a great training club. Only hit one ball and it was better than my iron shot. Beginners luck!

I am going back to the stock Diamana in the SIM three wood. It’s so much easier to get up in the air and I can set it to a lower setting to have the face look more square to me.

I had the first round of the State Am today. The top 31 go on to match play. This course doesn’t have a range so there are no warm ups. Just a putting green that you can chip on. I birdied the first, which is bad luck right? I lip out for birdie on 2 and hit it to a foot on 3. I miss a few short birdie putts on 6 and 7 and stick it to a foot again on 8. I am feeling pretty good but I knew that the back 9 was ready to bite me in the ass. I had 235 into 10 which was a par 5 and made par. Then birdied 12 and lipped out on 13. I bogey 14 and make a 15-20 foot for birdie on 15. I was in the middle of the fairway on 16 when the siren blew for inclement weather. I had to go in and wait. I never saw rain or lightening but it was hovering around us. I had to wait for 2 hours before going back out again. On 16 I hit it to 3.5 feet but miss the putt. I bogey the 210 yard par 3 and par 18 for a 69. Right now I am sitting as the low score on that course but there are a lot of guys who have to finish. They just canceled round 2 as they could not complete round 1 today. The top 15 from my course make it to match play so I have to wait to see the scores that come in tomorrow. The one good thing is now I can rest tomorrow as I am beat tired from walking today.

Round 1 was completed today. I was medalist on my course and 6th overall so I get the 7th seed. The defending champ gets the 1st seed. Match play starts tomorrow.

So I will just get the recap over with because I want to get this out of my memory ASAP.

I go 6up thru 6 has the kid I was playing was nervous or something as he couldn’t find a par. I was -2 thru 6 holes. He then chips in for birdie on 7. I hit it into the water on 8 and now I am 4up. I then bogey the next two from the middle of the fairway with a PW and SW in my hands. What kind of hack shit is that????? He then birdies the next hole and now my lead is down to 2. We both birdie 13 and he birdies 14. I three putt the next two holes and now I am 1 down. I hit a great shot to 17 but the wind took it over the green. We both made par. On the last he hits it to 4-5 feet and I hit my approach to 10 feet and miss the putt. End of match. Some dick on the course screams “unbelievable.” Of Course this was his home course so he had followers. He is a great kid and I wish him the best so there was no ill will towards him. He later came over to apologize about the guy who yelled on 18. I was ready to punch that guy after he yelled that but I knew I had more class than he did so I refrained.

This one really hurt. I mean the kid birdied 6 of the last 12 holes but I also let him back in. Lesson learned but no golf for the next few days for me. I am gonna get shit faced tonight to celebrate how much I suck at this game.
