Putter fitting

Where have you guys had the best putter fitting? I know a lot of people just play what looks good to their eyes. I have had an Edel putter fitting and it was really good, however I would prefer to not be bound to one putter maker. I would like someone that would make sure I am aiming in the right direction and that the hosel and flow fits me. Give me your opinions.

huntingchris0000 I have always liked SAM for lofts and lies. I do not really agree with some of the putter shapes that it suggests but nearly all of my putters have the same loft and lie.

Quintic is also really good but not many places have that.

I had a club champion putter fitting on Sam Lab and it made an enormous difference. I always thought I needed a mallet but based off numbers it said a plumbers neck was the jam. I don't know if it was more of the fitter though because he had me go from 33.25 down to 32" and reduced loft down to 1*, sounds nutty but worked marvelously to get my eyes over the ball.

Years ago, Eddie actually noted just from sight that I was missing right and just needed a touch more toe hang if keeping everything constant. At the end of the day a great fitter is always better than a computer but the computer can confirm the fitters thoughts.

If you're gonna 3 jack then 3 jack looking good.

dphatt I have done Samputt lab multiple times. I have been rather disappointed with most fittings I have had. The only one that was a great experience was the Edel. I am going to seek out another fitting soon and just want to see what is recommended as I am tired of just buying and trying

huntingchris0000 the beauty with putters is that you can use almost anything to roll it into the hole. To me the most important things are length, lie and loft. Once you get those down then you pick the head that gives you the most confidence. I have 10+ putters at home that vary from shapes to toe hangs. The one common thing is they are all 34in and they are all at 2 and 70.

I have been on SAM several times and I have always been recommended a face-balanced head, however I have putted my best with a short slant spider.

There are certain aspects that need to be correct, like dphatt said above it can be difficult to overcome an ill fitting loft and lie, but the more I play the more I feel the little things that make putting an art can make a big difference. I think I putt my best with a short slant or flow neck because of the unobstructed view of the ball. It may not "fit my stroke" according to a computer, but I feel I can see the line much more clearly.

KentonQ this is a great explanation and I have similar experience. Short slant/Flow works for me.
