Cameron Bullseye Question

Handstamped Cameron Bullseye. Looks real based on the Titleist script hand stamp and the S. Cameron font and size look accurate. Value-wise tough to throw an estimate out there because it’s such a small market of buyers on those.

ckay the guy wants 350 swiss francs for it, but I am sure I could negotiate it down a little bit. As a reference a new Cameron retails for 550 swiss francs. Would you say 300ish is a decent price?

Golfingfanatic I think that 300 would be reasonable. I have a bullseye with a custom shop Bulldog on it in a bit better shape. If you don't like the way that one looks, would be happy to trade you mine as I have another with a similar stamp. Regardless, I'm a big fan of the bullseye just as a cool retro putter. Actually have one of mine in the bag right now.

Golfingfanatic if you don’t take it for 350 I’ll take it for 350. That’s a “tour” putter.

Isn’t the “S. Cameron” how Scotty used to stamp his personals?

Noyes26 used to be said that if it was stamped S. Cameron it meant Scotty had personally worked on the putter. At some point though putters that showed no signs of any custom type work began to appear with S. Cameron stamping and away went that allure.

So a buddy saw a thread a couple years ago about my last grail putter and he sent me a stellar deal. I assume mine was refinished at some point. Looks very similar to the one in these pictures when so look at the hand stamping. $350 is a steal if you can buy it in person. That being said I’m not a detective but I wouldn’t send him a dime electronically. Hopefully they are just similar brother and sister putters!! Rooting for them being different and you scoring huge!

Looks like they both have double hit Titleist stamps too

Putterho I hope he has it in hand, as he agreed to meet me tomorow I've also asked him a bit more about the putter, because he listed it as an "american classic", which I thought was the bullseye with the copper weights. He said that he got the putter from Peter Robert Mitchell, who, according to my research, played on the European Tour in the 90s/00s.
Honestly, either this is a very elaborate troll and I'll waste a few hours or the guy doesn't really know what he is selling, which I think/hope is more plausible, given that golf is still very much a niche sport in Switzerland and gear knowledge is pretty much non-existent. But I will know more tomorrow and will update the thread in any case

Eddie sorry for the delay
managed to get the price down to 300 with a little negotiation and went straight to the course today. It’s a beautiful putter with a nice leather grip. I was a little worried about the forgiveness, but the first impressions are positive. I’ve also tried to hit some short putts with left to right break left-handed and it went surprisingly well.

Golfingfanatic hope you made sure he contacts you if he wants to unload anything else. You just outdid all the “I found this OTR Scotty at Goodwill for $7.99!”

OMG. I've been waiting for this response like the Ozark series to come back on Netflix as I've been in suspense. I am so freaking pumped for you. This is the deal of all deals for a Tour Bullseye. It also makes me now wonder if mine was refinished or just in original condition as I've always assumed it wasn't because of what I think were this exact putter's pictures floating around. Now I'm going to waste about 3 hours searching for those pictures. What a special opportunity for you. The story is great and the price is one of those once in a decade opportunities!!
So did he have a back story? If it were me I wouldnt have even asked to not raise suspicions of it being special but just curious! Cheeers for an awesome story and my favorite 2022 thread in the lounge so far.

Putterho I didn't ask anymore after he told me he got it from this European Tour Pro I mentioned earlier. As you said, I had to somewhat conceal my excitement already
