Hey everyone,

Its been awhile since I last posted on here but I just relocated to Charlotte for work after only having been here once before, so if anyone has any good recommendations for public courses in or around the Charlotte area I would love to hear them. Once I'm settled into my new role I'll start looking at some clubs as well, so please feel free to make some suggestions if anyone has any. Thanks in advance!

I'll sum up my thoughts on Charlotte public golf with this.....I drive to a Pinehurst to play. I'm on the NW side of Charlotte (Mountain Island Lake) and from my house to Pine Needles or Mid Pines is 2 hours on the nose. I'd rather take the day and drive over there than play anywhere in the area. Quality over quantity for me.

Charlotte private golf is good but hard to get in a lot of places these days. The ones that you can get in are busy as hell and I don't see why anyone would want to pay for a private club and still have 6 hour rounds.

mljones99 That’s good to know, I appreciate the insight. I have noticed that most of the clubs here have 2-3 year waitlists, even the ones that probably wouldn’t be considered one of the “premier” clubs in the area. I’ve only been to one of the local courses to hit balls a couple weeks ago and the range didn’t leave me very excited to go back and play the course. There are a couple of public courses right over the SC line that look like they could be promising, I’ll probably check them out once this snow clears.

Same in NY, I tend to drive an hour and a half plus to play a decent track as we are riddled with high end clubs or public tracks with a ton of play.

Jake i take you are on the south side of town then? definitely more public options down that way that are decent. Not sure about costs, pace of play, etc... though

mljones99 Yeah I’m about 8 miles south of uptown, if I find anything around here that’s not half bad I’ll let you know. If you ever need an additional player for a trip out to Pinehurst, Mid Pines, etc. feel free to shoot me a message on here, I’d love to get out there.
