As a Newport 2 head junkie, I can give some feedback on this one.
This year's Special select I'm a big fan of, thinner topline, which gets closer to the tour heads.
The heavier weights in the toe and heel over previous years would indicate either a heavier overall headweight or more weight distributed to the edges, either way, it gives a bit of peace of mind.
The only reason I haven't picked one up is because it's longer heel to toe than my gamer putter, and I'm a fan of consistency.
I will say when buying, make sure you get to inspect the actual club in person, because some of the first run of these putters had areas where it's clear that the surface milling/finishing) was not complete, namely on the bumpers.
