With two little ones (son is almost 4, and daughter just turned one), and in the process of building a new house (on the golf course though...great success), I have limited time to practice.

I work 9:30-6pm (remote for now), but I also only live 2 miles from my office if we go back, so nothing crazy.
My kids wake up at 6am, so it's not like I can sneak out to the range or onto the course for a quick 9 before work either.

I typically take my boy out for 9 after I'm done with work to get some QT in and get a little play. He also loves the range, so I try to split it up, 2-3 days of range, and 2-3 days of 9 holes.

My course is pretty short, so I'm trying to find ways to really dial in my game with limited time. I like to tee off with irons and hybrids to test myself with mid/long irons in rather than driver wedge on every hole.

Anyone in a similar boat? Do you prefer to play or hit the range with limited time? Any drills you like to do that really keep you sharp? Looking to get sharp before a big trip I have coming up in 3 weeks.

ForeLeft if I have limited time I usually practice putting and chipping on the range as that’s where I’m really trying to get better.

I’m in a similar situation, maybe worse off. Haven’t gone to the range since the winter. Have three rounds for the season. My golf season is pretty shot with the current environment.

It wasn’t much better last year either. The things I worked on during last year was a 10-3 punch with my scoring irons 7-8-9-PW-52. Penetrating fades are flying about 5-8y short of a full swing, mid flight draws are about even with a full swing as I am getting through with my hands a little quicker.

The benefits for me is that I can just rely on a punchy shot and have decent control and find the green. When it’s hot, it’s like throwing darts. When it’s cold, I’m still putting most times. It’s a swing I can rely on.

Other yardages I practice is 50-75-100y with a variety of different wedge lofts whether it is a drop and stop, or something that needs to run out to a back pin. For my days when I can’t keep the driver in play and I have to get myself back into play. There is no other shot I enjoy more than being 50 or 75y in knowing I can stick it close.

Driver is whatever, I’m reasonably long and can always fall back to a 250-260y 2i if I need to. Long irons rarely come out unless I’m playing a shorter Par 5 or a really long par 4.

Would love to spend time practicing my shots around the green but those facilities don’t really exist around me.
