Hola! In an argument around the best wedge gapping ON PAPER for a 47 degree P wedge.
totally understand that it will depend on gapping, but I’m only asking for the sake of ideal on paper.
Whatever makes the gapping appropriate. On paper 😂
FWIW, I have a 47 pw (620MB). I play a 54 and 60. Seems to be more even, 7 degrees and then 6 degrees difference. Allows me to have some options at the top.
On paper I'd guess 51 | 55 | 59
Jaybananapantsarthur this is what I was arguing. I will be taking your response and running hahaha
Jaybananapantsarthur you’re so smart
Noyes26 on paper. in practice I'm still searching for my village.
Next question on this - I’ve seen mixed answers - if he were to buy a 50.08 and make it a 51, would it now have 7 degrees of bouncy or 9?
kmac03 9°
Jaybananapantsarthur that’s what I thought, but then read this from golf.com in regards to wanting a 57 degree wedge. Is their terminology off?
“Weakening the loft on a 58-degree is going to add bounce to the wedge; going the opposite way on a 56-degree is going to have the opposite effect, removing bounce from the sole.”
kmac03
weaken = adding loft = adding bounce
Jaybananapantsarthur thank you!
Jaybananapantsarthur weaken = adding loft = adding bounce
= decreasing offset

Disagree
if you play crazy fast greens 47/52/57/62 can also be a valid option.
