What do you think a pool table or craps table felt surface over smooth concrete would roll at?

dphatt this is how I felt at independence this past weekend. They might have been the fastest, hardest surface I ever played on. Everything was on the defensive. I just don't have many options around me that ever get greens to that speed.

dbenick3 this is how I felt at the Middle Atlantic Am at Bethesda last year. Nothing could have prepared me for that. This is why I have gone to the blade for tournament golf this year. Worst case I can hit it off of the toe to kill the speed. With the SpiderX it was impossible and I was grinding over 2-3 foot putts.

dphatt I feel like if I get something at a 15 - 16 range, it would help going into tourneys like that. I had a lot of 15 to 20 footers for birdies and I was on pins and needles. All this while watching a college kid go drano on them with no fear speed wise.

dphatt Hitting it off the toe is a myth! A proper struck putt with correct line always goes in. Work on your stroke and you'll improve your speed control. Long nights on the Oakmont putting green taught me that.

PaulAllenPA 6 to 8 PGA section events a year and mix in some other games vs mini tour guys on good tracks. I am at a Virginia top 10 course but we have flat greens that get slow in the heat. Our state open felt like putting on smooth concrete.

dphatt I can guarantee Kinloch isn't as fast at Independence was. I headed over to spring creek which has some of the quicker ones around and they weren't even close.

PaulAllenPA terrible comparison. The reason you hit the putt on a toe is to deaden the strike to the ball while maintaining the same stroke. I have many friends who play on tour who do this on extremely downhill putts

dbenick3 you would be surprised with Kinloch. They have different greens with different grass and speeds. I said the same thing last year at Bethesda when I was on those greens. I asked myself how can I ever prepare for anything like this.

dphatt played many a round with Scott Gump back in the day and we flushed this out while at the Buick one year. Most tour players know the toe putt is a myth. Who are your buddies on tour? Would love to educate them on what we came up with.

As for asking who I know, do yourself a favor and use the search button and look up who I know and my experience in the golf industry.

I haven’t heard of a Paul Allen as a top 1000000 coach so maybe you need to teach me who you are before trying to teach anything to anyone 😂
