So here’s where I’m a bit weird. I have plenty of access to fitting bays and trackmans, but I think part of the fun for me is contemplating specs beforehand. I absolutely have lost all trust in hitting 3 wood. Last year it was one of the best clubs in my bag, but this year, my attack angle is significantly much more neutral, with my driver aoa being no more than +2, and irons mostly being -2. As a result, my contact with a three wood has been significantly more hit or miss. I've hit enough bad shots with it this year to no longer want to even pull the club. When I look at strokes lost, the ones that have cost me were "safe" tee shots, with 3 wood. So.... TM 300 Mini driver, which on paper is for people who don't like an actual driver, but I'm looking for it to be an easier to hit 3 wood, mostly off the tee of course. So questions. 11.5 vs 13.5..... 13.5 on paper should make more sense because it has more loft should be straighter... Other side tangent, on paper, a mid kick point shaft is generally preferable in a fairway wood, because of its properties to help get the ball in the air, but I play all shafts with high kick points and find it really throws off my feel. Do I get normal stock shaft because I suck or go all fancy and get a fannnnnncy shaft for it.... 43.5" stock length. I feel I should play it as short as I can for maximum control, or is it because I've been cutting all my 3 woods short (42.75" playing length), that I suck with them? Can you tell 3 wood has me mind fucked....

here are my thoughts: I think I'd go 13.5 over the 11.5 head. For me the 11.5 head would probably sit too close to the driver. Plus the 13.5 should be at least playable from a good lie in the fairway and you can always loft it down a little if it spins too much. Shaft-wise I'd probably go for something like a Diamana ZF. Sort of in-between a classic driver or fairway wood profile. The silvery ion finish matches the retro vibe of the 300 Mini, too. I also wouldn't go shorter than 43" personally.

I watched the TXG video - they seem to think this is the perfect in-betweener club for driver and 3 wood. I agree that the 11.5 might encroach on driver yardage. 13.5 seems to make sense since more loft, straighter, etc. Have you tried a longer 3 wood @Eddie ? (stock length and etc)

13.5 @ 43" with your favorite shaft.

Its a coin flip between the 11.5 and 13.5. If you go 11.5 go with a shorter shaft. Playing a 3 wood length shaft in the Original One made it play way better than with the longer shaft. With a driver shaft it almost feels like a sledgehammer or a old school metal with a steel shaft.

Also might be a mess with ordering. I will buy one the first day I see one in a shop and will go from there lol

Regarding loft, all things tell me 13.5 is better overall, but I think back to my time using a driving iron, where the ball would never get higher than 60 ft in the air, but it was one of the most consistent ways to get in play for me... Then there's tee height. I feel like this should be a just tee this thing barely off the ground and hit down on it, or tee it like a driver and hit up on it. Have NO clue how to hit this club.

TM 300 Mini… I think I’m going to order one…. What spec?

Was at the range today with an 11.5*. I put a Ventus Black 7X tipped half an inch in it. Was out of my 3 wood to give you length ideas. Thing was just hitting stinger cuts. I may really love it. I play a very tree lined golf course and when driver isn't behaving this really may be a club for me. I'll have it on the course tomorrow and see if it makes it in the bag for our Member Guest this weekend.

I took it to the range and the course today. I also had multiple people hit it. It’s definitely lower if you tee it slightly higher than a three wood. The feel and sound are not that great. It was longer than the three wood but way more off line than the driver. A +4 handicap hit it and it was slightly shorter than his driver. He didn’t like how it looked or sounded.

I still am optimistic to play one but me and the tsi2 are getting along pretty well but as soon as it goes south, 300mini green light.

@NSiman17 and I hit the Mini Driver on Trackman tonight. We both thought the Autoflex didn’t work well with it so I brought a Ventus Blue 7s tipped an inch to try. The length was 43.75 and the swing weight was D4. We both didn’t hit the club very well and it did go further than our three woods but the mishits were more penal. The surprising thing for us was the club wasn’t too difficult to get up in the air off the deck. I still think it’s a niche club that would work for guys who struggle with driver but in the end this wasn’t the club for either of us.

It may be slightly harder to curve but nothing crazy, definitely harder to draw off the deck. Maybe I'll try to hit it off the toe to see if that helps turn it over

I was hoping to put the tsi2 fairway through its paces, but we played from 7200 so I was hitting driver all freaking day.

So yeah, I need one more round with the tsi2 fairway before making the 300 leap.

tsi2 3wd will stay in the bag for long courses, will put the mini driver (13.5) for tighter shorter courses. Going with an old faithful shaft first.

Took mine for a spin tonight to the local range. Head feels dead. Goes pretty good. I’ll take it out to the local muni sometime next week and see how it does and feels with a real ball.

teed relatively low works well, and swinging it like a driving iron, low launch with enough spin to counteract the low launch.

13.5 set to one click lower on the upright side, d3.5 sw at 43”, Fuji pro73. Also have some lead tape on the toe, maybe why I don’t mind the sound. Should be mushier with a real ball on the course. QC on the paint and crown is abysmal on mine but such is the norm with everything.

13.5 is definitely hitable off the deck, I probably won’t but I could if I really needed to.

I wouldn’t say the 13.5 is much longer than my sim2 was but I make much better contact off the tee with the peace of mind knowing that I’m not going to chunk kick or roof it.
