mljones99 Sneaker culture is interesting as I relate it to a certain segment of the car culture.
Retro Jordans are arguably the most popular sneaker segment in the culture. The demographic that is collecting these either wore them when the were kids, or wanted to wear them but their parents didn't want to spend that kind of money on a pair of sneakers for their kids. Now those kids are grown up and have income to buy them.
The car market today reflects that as well, aside from the exotic/hyper stuff. Right now late 80s/90s cars are appreciating very quickly in value for the same reason. Kid grew up wanting a fox body Mustang, an air cooled Porsche, or a Japanese import and today they have the money to spend on them to relive or fulfill some dream they had as a kid.
