LAGP Putter Shafts

ckay 3:30 works great/looks great. I masked both that I’ve done and used 42” belt sander.

Finished the build with a Gripmaster Signature Tour in Tiffany. The original build had the same grip but black. On a side note I like the profile of the grip and ended up putting a black one on the Olson.
With the KBS CT Tour, putter was at D7. With the TPZ, D3.5 so be aware that it has some counterbalance to the shaft.
Rolled about 30 putts on a PuttOut tonight when the grip set. I have a bunch with the KBS that was in it. Here are some early findings. YMMV of course.
With the KBS, it had the thud-like feel you would expect from an SS head but a bit exaggerated as this head is beached. Solid, and in between soft and firm if that makes any sense. It had a lot of feedback, you knew if you hit the putt low on the face because you felt it in the hands immediately.
With the TPZ, you still have that type of feedback but it is definitely muted and virtually undetectable. Overall, the feel is quite softer and feels pretty close to a carbon head on a steelie which I welcome with open arms. Struck a few on the toe and heel purposely and the head remains stable with virtually zero twist in the hands. I could see this in a higher MOI putter having absolutely zero noticeable twist. Ball rolled true as well with these extreme miss hits.
I mentioned this in the Stability thread, but I’ve had four different combos and while that shaft did what BGT markets it to do I just couldn’t get used to the very firm feel of it no matter the head. Best I can explain it is it felt very boardy at impact. Like catching a blade two grooves low kind of feel in the hands.
I had zero intentions of going this route and staying with the KBS CT as I’ve been loving the feel with my Olson on steel but some recent posts mentioned that this feels quite a bit different even though it delivers the tech. I know @dphatt was a long term user of his Stability and when he mentioned the feel was different, I wanted to give it a try.
Still very early in my experience with the shaft but first impressions are delivering when it comes to the feel I want from a putter. I hope to get a round in next week and see how it feels from longer distances as my mat is only 6ft. That way I can speak more to how stiff the shaft actually is.
Big thanks to @dphatt for getting the shaft for me.

This shaft is the real deal. That is all.
Edit:
Just to add a few more notes now that I have some time. I played my first round with this shaft. I can without a doubt say that this shaft to me is leaps and bounds better than the Stability Tour that I’ve played for the last year.
The reasons:
1- Stable
2- Feels traditional at impact
3- Great distance control from lag distances
4- Makeable distances, does what you expect it to do
Stability Tour did 1 & 3 well for me. 4 was tough as I had poor speed control and felt that the roll carried more speed than I was used to. That led to strokes with no confidence and the ball rolling off line from impact.

Since these shafts can only go in plumbers necks, what options are available for slant necks, like my Spider X, that will feel better than the stock shaft?

ckay Bro been keeping secret watch on your putter build from afar So jealous, so beautiful, absolutely love it.
Did you have the Stability in a spider or a Normal flat stick last year?
I’m so jelly that folks get to use the LAGP. DPhatt knows how my run in went with the ordering Maybe I’ll just steal my wife’s putter and put one in…….wait a minute….that’s a great idea actually
Fook it, maybe next year.

dphatt have heard LAGP is working on an adapter to fit more putters but that maybe months out

bigjohntripod thanks bro! Super happy with the finished combo.
I had a Stability Tour in each of the following:
Spider X flowneck
Phantom X 8
Soto flowneck
Phantom X 5.5

ckay I wonder if the stability would feel different in a blade style head vs a mallet? I’d be in for the experiment, but may just wait on an adapter. Hope it’ll support flowneck style sticks I Should have just went longneck from Artisan
Such an idiot

bigjohntripod I have a stability on a blade Bettinardi. I don’t care for it. The KBS One Step feels better in a blade

bigjohntripod It didn’t feel any better in the Soto. I feel I’ve given it a fair shake with 4 different set ups. If you want to experiment, they’re fairly cheap on the Bay.

Do you guys think brands like these LAGP, stability etc will ever make a double bend?
- 1588
Benzo It’s a good question. I have no expertise in how composite manufacturing is done, but I’ve seen bike frames with bends/curves so I have to believe it can be accomplished. Question is whether the demand for it in golf will be high enough to pursue it. My guess is yes, but that’s just my $0.02.

Benzo BGT stability slips over your existing shaft so there isn’t need for a new shaft. That’s what is on my SpiderX. I highly doubt LAGP will make a new double bend shaft as it is not an easy installation. If you have ever reshafted a double bend shaft you would know what I mean. I hope LAGP creates some sort of slip on system like BGT

Has anyone tried the Fujikura stability shafts and how do they compare?
