How do you care for your carbon steel putters?

Curious on how everyone treats theirs. I have a studio design 1.5 and go over it with Remington RemOil with a q tip after every round and keep it out of the headcover when not playing.

Don't game carbon much anymore but I used a Sentry Marine Tuf cloth and would wipes them with it after each round. They're on the rack with the same protectant.

I have Putter Tape on the sole, and oil it with a Hopps Gun Oil rag after every use.

I have given up on carbon putters. I was always too OCD about them and I used to carry a mini baby oil bottle in the bag. If I ever get another carbon putter I am just gonna let it rust.

dphatt I really like a rusty carbon putter. I still think that Geoff Ogilvy's carbon 009 is one of the best out there.

Agree with this. Let it run its course, and either enjoy it with a weathered finish, or choose a myriad of new finishes and get it redone. There are a lot more options in terms of refinishing with carbon over stainless.

Just wipe it down after every hole with your towel. No need to go with baby oil only to have the putter slide out from under you on the 1st green and you pull a hammy catching yourself.

Seriously, years of gaming carbons and I am just diligent about wiping the putter dry after every green. No rust, awesome finish wear over time, and avoid the mess.
