Converting Velcro Blade Putter Cover to Magnetic

Anyone have any experience attempting this or know a company/person who can do it?

I really dig the headcover that came with my Artisan, but velcro is awful.

It can't be difficult. Take a seam ripper and undue the stitching that holds the velcro strips in place. Slit the interior and insert your magnetic strips and stitch the slit closed again. Never tried it but should be simple enough. Try it on a junk headcover first. If I were to try, I would probably find magnetic strips with an adhesive backing.

Sure it sounds simple. But "should be easy enough" when I have no experience stitching anything and no extra headcovers to practice on doesn't give me a ton of confidence that I won't ruin the custom headcover

I guess I'll just keep thinking about it for now.

KentonQ If I ever get around to it, I'll document it and share here. I have an old Cameron nylon that I want to try it on. The alternative is to bring it to a tailor with a set of magnets and explain to them how you want it done. I looked at an EP headcover last night as I thought about your question, and there are two round magnets on each side of the headcover. They are held in place by something though and I don't know how they did it.

KentonQ I asked this question a few months ago because I have the same problem. I used a box cutter and put rare earth magnets inside and then glued back up. Magnets are great but the problem is the velcro. Absolutely has to be gone. I think this is a job for someone that is handy stitching or has done leather work before. I am going to try and do that too. I don't want to lose my Cash is King or my Horse one.

Instead of removing the Velcro, Use that to form the pouch for the magnet. Cut a piece of nylon fabric (or whatever you want to use), sew 3 sides of it, then put the magnet in and sew it shut. The velcro has always been the issue for me, not the stitching of the velcro to the headcover.
