Hilton Head Recs

Didn't see anything on a search. Sorry if I missed it.

Anyone familiar with Hilton Head? I'm going on a bachelor party down there April 9-11. Looks like the guys organizing it booked George Fazio at Palmetto Dunes one day and Old South Golf Links for another. Any thoughts on those?

More importantly, can anyone make a recommendation for Thursday? Looks like I am going to make it down early with a few other guys. Looks like there one tee time open at Heron Point but it's not the best time for us. Can't miss or somewhere else I should try to hit? Harbour Town is shut down for Heritage the next weekend.

I live in Sea Pines, on the tip of HHI and play at Sea Pines CC and Harbour Town. I would recommend the Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes over the Fazio. Old South is off island, usually in good condition. Atlantic Dunes is located with Heron Point at the Plantation Club, it's a nice Davis Love design. I would host you at Sea Pines CC but we have restrictions on outside play. Do you have a Club Pro? If so, he could call and maybe get you on Long Cove or Berkeley Hall.

Sorry for the delay. Work has been crazy.

This is really helpful! I'm stuck with the courses these guys booked but good to know they are decent. I will see if anything is available at Atlantic Dunes and if not I might try to do our Thursday round at the Jones Course at Palmetto since I'm stuck with the Fazio haha.

I haven't played much golf on HHI, but could give you info on all of the good spots to eat, haha. I will be there the last week in July and I am hoping to get a round in.

Lunch and Dinner= Low Country Backyard/Java Burrito/Salty Dog

ckay +1 for Frosty Frog for drinks, and If you like great no-frills seafood hit The Sea Shack. If you find yourself near Shelter Cove one morning pop into Hilton Head Social Bakery

I can help with Charleston:

Breakfast:
Page's Okra Grill (actually in Mount Pleasant but worth it)
Daps for the breakfast burrito
*Sorry, I'm usually a bit groggy in the mornings in Charleston so I'm lacking in experience here but I will try to think of something else. Hominy Grill was the spot before it closed.)

Lunch:
Butcher & Bee
Hometeam BBQ (I like the one on Sullivan's)
Poe's Tavern (great burger also on Sullivan's)

Dinner:
Edmund's Oast (especially if you like craft beer but the food is great. In house charcuterie. This place doesn't get enough love IMO)
FIG
Husk (not a Sean Brock restaurant anymore but still a great place. Bar is a lot of fun and great bourbon selection)
Chez Nous (terrific place but the menu changes and it's limited so be aware of that)

I hear great things about Leon's for lunch and dinner but haven't made it there yet.

Thanks fellas! Appreciate the great info. Beats pondering over Google reviews for sure. No frills works out well since our daughter is 20m old, and we love seafood.

Bowen's near Folly Beach for no frills seafood near Charleston. It gets crowded and attracts a lot of tourists but it's a pretty cool experience.

My wife and I really enjoyed Skull Creek Boathouse when we were there. It was busy as hell the night we went but was able to slide into a couple spots at the bar and had a great time.

Man, y'all giving all the over-crowded tourists spots. You'll never get in the Sea Shack after April and we stay clear of Coligny.

ckay Absolutely! I love Charleston a little too much. My wife was living in Mount Pleasant when we first started dating so it's one of our favorite spots to visit. If you are into BBQ, Rodney Scott's or Lewis are great, as well. It's hard to go wrong in that town.
