To me the best walking bag is the Sun Mountain 2.5. It is one of the lightest bags in the market and it has enough pockets for the things that you really need.

Before I broke both ankles this winter, story for another thread and time, I was using a Jones original to walk and loved it. Was really not the minimalistic design and features as I don’t carry too much stuff when I’m out. Was worried about no stand, and can definitely see how that would bother people, but I was used to it after a few holes. Will be using my stitch sl1 to start this year when we are finally allowed back out to enjoy our game!!

@HungoverGoose13 Did your strap break in at all? When I had the SL1, the strap was so stiff I gave up on it.

Agree on the 2.5+. Aesthetically could be much better, but in terms of weight, comfort and storage, I haven't found a bag that beats it. I'm extremely intrigued by the Titleist linkmaster caddy bag, but worry the lack of pockets will suck.

Gleasonb the Sun Mountain just doesn’t have the looks but it is very useful. The Linksmaster is a great looking bag but the weight is almost double that of the Sun Mountain

Currently have a ballistic Nylon Mackenzie...but have a couple EP bags (yes they are now making bags besides just headcovers) in the works. Going to be awesome. Will post pics when it arrives. The balance of this Mac is terrific and has surprisingly good storage capacity.

I have a players 4 carbon on the way, excited to use it for walking days. My G Fore Daytona bag is absolute shit for walking, heavier than it looks, but at least the single strap is comfortable.

I am a huge fan of my Mackenzie for a single strap walking bag (by far the most comfortable strap I've tried). As for a "full" stand bag, I've been liking my TBC Hoofer bag. Also, my Players 4 Staydry was money while up in Bandon, but I don't use it otherwise. Intrigued by the Sun Mountain 2.5 though after reading some of the replies in here.

You guys with Mac bags and the like. What do you do when you play in the morning and there is dew on the ground? And no I am not looking at getting tressle sticks.

dphatt I have ballistic nylon and haven’t had any issues with waterproof.
could always throw it on a pushcart if worried.

dphatt I hate to say it, but I don't take my Mackenzie out early mornings because I can't bring myself to mess up the look of it. Stupid, but true. I do have the tressle sticks for it as I'm not sure what else to do with it other than lay a towel down underneath it every time.

My favorite walking bag weighs 170lbs., has only two legs, has a bunch of pockets, even tells you yardages, can even hit a shot for me if I'm feeling tired.

My full bag is a TM Flextech and it is light and well balanced. Pocket layout is good too. I also have a Jones Utility Rover. Good Sunday bag for those that want a couple of smaller pockets for keys/phone etc. Contemplating a waxed canvas Mac but I’m in no rush.

As for wet rounds with a Sunday bag, it’s no big deal. I’m a dew sweeper and haven’t had any issues with wet grips. I just drop the bag down. If you’re concerned about it you could lay a towel down as a buffer between the ground and the bag.

ckay i have the TM flex tech lite. Weight is nice but strap keeps getting messed up. Also have a ping hoofer lite. Really like it.

I usually use my MacKenzie for 9 holes and/or afternoon golf. Prefer the Titleist with a stand for wet/dirty conditions.

DaHOF yeah man that’s why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. It is like my obsession with white golf shoes or wheels on my cars. I hate keeping them clean but I love them.

DaHOF Truth. I also don't really like a full set in them. last Friday I used it for 9 holes with half set and played just as well as I would otherwise.

Used my waxed canvas Mackenzie exclusively all last year through rain, shine and dew covered mornings. No complaints or ill effects. Also have a ballistic version from about 6 years ago, but don’t often use it since grips would get wet in the morning. If I change up I always go back to a Hoofer or L8 from a few years back. Looking to try the Craz-e Lite bag this season too.

I just purchased the Titleist Carbon bag. It’s 2.8 lbs and has a 4 way divider. Haven’t had a chance to carry it on course yet.

I recently got the Callaway Carry+ single strap bag and I am a big fan so far. It's light, comfortable to carry and big enough for what I need. The little legs are huge for me as our course can get quite muddy in the spring and fall.
