Always been into clothes in general and always had way too many. That extends deeply into my golf. I have a huge golf wardrobe. Though I probably have 100 golf shirts, I only keep about 60 in the rotation. The rest get used on practice days. Once a shirt sits in my closet for more than a season, unworn, it usually goes to the reserve pile.
I wear mostly Footjoy shirts, but I have some other brands in there too. Carnoustie is probably my 2nd most purchased brand, but really FJ accounts for over 70% of my entire golf wardrobe, and 100% of my golf shoes. Always has, actually. Don't think I have ever purchased a pair of golf shoes that isn't by FJ. I have a lot of FJ pants and shorts too (though I'm not thrilled with the shorter inseam they are using on their shorts now at only 9 1/2 inches, I think). I actually like the way Adidas Ultimate 365 shorts and pants fit me, so I have a few dozen of each by them as well. I have many vests and pullovers in every color, jackets, rain gear, mostly all Footjoy.
Yes, Footjoy is a bit more expensive at retail, but I feel the quality is very good. Plus, I get a pretty good "secret" discount through my friendly pro. I'm also a Titleist loyalist, so duh, of course I'm a FJ lover.
Now, as far as inexpensive golf clothing goes, definitely check out TGW at https://www.tgw.com/
They have a ton of manufacturers/brands and some great discounts, not to mention awesome sales. They also have their own private label stuff. The prices on their own brand are usually very attractive and the quality seems pretty good. The styles are as good or better than many other golf brands.
