I know that this is a topic that seems to pop up on social media and golf outlets all of the time, but I am always interested to hear people's rationale into their selections. My top 5, not in any order are: Merion, Ohoopee, Sleepy Hollow, Palmetto and Seminole.

-I love the simplicity and uniqueness that Merion's wicker basket brings. I also love logos that have dates on them.

-Ohoopee's logo is certainly different, but I appreciate the regionality that it brings.

-Sleepy Hollow is such a neat logo. It is one of a kind and definitely a talking point.

-Palmetto is another simple logo, with a date. My wife and I honeymooned in Hilton Head and have returned every year.....so that state of South Carolina holds a special place in my heart.

-Seminole is just an iconic logo to me. I really enjoy other similar logos like Shinnecock and Philly Cricket Club, but Seminole is the best of that bunch, in my opinion,

What are your top 5 and why?

    1- Ohoopee
    2- Everglades
    3- Winged Foot
    4- Manzanita Links
    5- Seminole

im a huge fan of simple but elegant. I prefer no words or anything, I’m more of a If You Know You Know kind of guy.

Winged Foot- USGA course with a logo that’s easy to decipher without words

Burning Tree- same as above without the USGA history but still filled with elite history

Pine Valley Centennial- elegant and classic while somewhat modern

Merion- designed by the same person who did the logo above

Almost any Indian Head logo can go here
    -Shinnecock
    -Seminole
    -Aronimink Members
    -Philly Cricket

ForeLeft dphatt Winged Foot is probably #6 for me. I was wearing a shirt with this logo one day, I am a 4th grade teacher, and had a student ask me what it is. I explained it all and this poor girl looked at me like I had 3 heads.

    • Ohoopee Match Club - Simplicity fits the mindset, plus the tie to the Vidalia onion since it's like 30 minutes from Vidalia.

    • Monterey Peninsula's dragon is unique and transfers to stitching well, which is a huge part of my logo judging.

    • My home course, Old Overton Club in Birmingham, has a really cool logo. It's built on a reclaimed coal mine, and the logo fits the theme and is clean.

    • CC of Birmingham is clean and classic, but I've lived in Birmingham for most of my life so it's also sentimental for me

    • PV/Merion/Sleepy Hollow/Seminole/Winged Foot/Burning Tree are so good for all the above reasons, but wanted to add new courses

    1. Merion
    2. Les Bordes in France
    3. Royal St. Georges
    4. Royal Lytham and St. Annes
    5. Winged Foot
      1. PV Centennial
      2. Burning Tree
      3. Links Club
      4. Seminole
      5. Merion

Notable mention - I love Augustas "A.N.G.C." Old School logo

      In no order...

      ohoopee
      congaree
      seminole
      everglades
      Preston Trail
      sand hills
      Timaquana members logo

Call me biased to the west coast but I love the Olympic Club logo. Winged Foot is definitely top 3 for me though....

Some of my favorites in no order

      Maidstone

      Sand Hills

      Sankaty Head (disregard my bias)

Unlike HTGL, this is of a REAL functioning lighthouse

      Winged Foot

      Kitansett Club

      Congaree

      McArthur

      Chechesee Creek Club

      Newport

      Boston GC

      Arcola

      Bedford

      Ansley GC

      Cherry Hills
