Golfingfanatic 402 from blue / 375 whites. Played whites yesterday and tees were up. Can try to bomb driver to the left of island fairway but driver was broken yesterday. Didn't think I could get 3i through island fairway.

What's the number to carry onto the second fairway on 6? From the pic, it looks like you effectively have more room on the left as well. I love the look of this hole, reminds me of a hole we used to have at my old club which was always the risk/reward short par 4 type of thing. Are there any prevailing winds on that hole? And uh yeah, can I join too haha.

Eddie when whites are back in normal position it's 270 to end of island fairway. From normal blue or white tees the play is the island fairway, better angle in. Prevailing wind is downwind. Come off #6 and #7 is usually a minimum of 1 to 2 clubs dead into. Shotgun with Don, anytime.

Here's my recap. I took three new pieces of equipment out for their first real golf. DF60 in the driver: It's funny, I was bitching about how soft the BF is, but I think using that for three months has gotten me used to such an active mid and tip section that playing the DF felt stiff. The one thing I will say is that the flatter flight was a very welcomed sight, especially considering how windy my home track is. PXG 0317x gen 2 hybrid: I pound this thing on the range, have it set to 56 degree lie angle and a little closed to suit my eye. I use this or a UDI on several short holes at my home course where there is water in play. I setup over a short par 4 that is lined with water on the left, and all I could think was "Don't chunk it and put a sandblast mark on the face." Great thought huh. I proceeded to hit the thinnest hybrid of my life. With the UDI it would have carried maybe 75 yards and rolled out, but the forgiveness of a hybrid head definitely kicked in and was playable. I'm a huge fan of that no pitch dense sound/feel at impact with all my woods so I'm really happy with that. And happy to report no ugly marks on this one. Hi-Toe Tour issue: the funny thing about this head was that even though the whole face is raw, there are no milling marks on the face. When I was building it, we were scared that this head may be one of those reject heads that is designed to not spin too much for the tour guys. Yeah... it spins just fine, fresh grooves raw face, left a ton of my chips short because of a lot more check on that first hop than I was expecting. But I can live with that. Score? Dogshit, but you already knew that.

I’m bagging the u510 1i right now and that thing may be the easiest club in the bag to hit, off the tee and deck.

also looking into the Vokey hand grinding program....don’t tell my wife 😂😂😂. But that’s next year maybe. PHoe set me up with wedges, absolutely pure 54 Cleveland and 58 TM MG.

bigjohntripod I love my u500 4 iron. It’s so easy to hit and it makes me wish they made it in a 5 for retail. From past experience I do not think the T100s will give your the lower flight you are looking for. Are you looking for less spin? As @ForeLeft said before, Titleist irons do tend to go higher. Let me know how the fitting goes as I am curious what they will do to lower your trajectory. Another iron to look at would by the Srixon 785s as they are spin killers.

I also looked at the Hand ground Vokeys and they look great but at $300+ a stick that’s going to be a tough pill for me to swallow. If you are looking at spending that much give the guys at Artisan a look. Mike Taylor, the guy who does Tigers clubs, personally does everything.

dphatt Fort Worth isn’t too far from me (Houston). May be worth the trip and $200 fitting fee. I also feel wedges are the most important/personal clubs in the bag so they warrant the price tag. I sent them a message about turnaround time, I’ll see what they say. I’ll also look into the Srixon’s for sure. I’ve heard nothing but great things about them. Thank you for the suggestions 🙏🙏🙏

ckay I truly feel bad. Well not really but you know what I mean. 😂 I am in a unique situation before I get married and the gym isn’t open so I’m walking a lot. And the range just open. So I have just been playing golf and nothing else. 🤷‍♂️

dphatt I did about a couple weeks ago. It was gonna be a flight but the people in my life were a little against flying so I just made a quick 8 hour drive down and stayed w friends. I did not take a ton of pictures because I was always talking to someone and I didn’t want to be rude. But it was a really cool experience and worth it. You start out getting all your clubs measured and then you hit your wedges on the track man. They want to know your gaps before they fit you. There’s a short game facility on the other side of this inconspicuous building and you hit every shot imaginable with your wedges and their wedges for about 1.5 hours and just talk about it. Then you sit next to Jamie (who fit me) and talk about what you did and then design your wedge. The random white piece of wall was obviously worth taking a pic of with many important signatures on it

Had my first lesson yesterday. Super insightful and helpful. The pro completely overhauled my grip (was way too strong) so now I am in that period where everything in the swing feels super awkward because of that grip change. Yesterday was on course and then today I'm going in front of a trackman and 360 degree cameras to try to make this not awkward and get some reps. Excited to get stats on what my club distances are for each club, because I have a very very basic idea of my distances.

Also, disregard the hair. Forgot a hat and the 70% humidity air didn’t agree with it too much lol. Getting a trim Friday, it’s driving me nuts.
