I have been battling tendonitis for the past year so I decided to look at graphite shafts in the irons. I started last year with Modus 120s but I felt like I could go lighter. I went with the Accra iCWT 95 first as it had a titanium mesh at the bottom of the shaft to play closer to steel. These had a really harsh feel for graphite and the performance was it what I was looking for. Then I went to the Steelfiber 108J shafts and those felt really soft at the tip which caused a lot of high left shots. I was about to give up on the graphite experiment until I saw Mitsubishi had a new shaft called the MMT which Abraham Ancer was using on tour. I gave them a try in the launch monitor and they felt great. I pulled the trigger on them and waited a few weeks as the PW shaft was back ordered. Once I got them in I started installing them and I noticed they definitely swing weight a little heavier than most 105 shafts. Indoor testing was not great as they felt really stout but I had to try them outside before I could pass judgement. First round out with them and I was extremely impressed. They felt and reacted just like a steel shaft. I have had them in the bag for 20 rounds now and I can say I may never go back to steel again. I will update this post if and when tournament season ever gets started.
