I will probably get them regripped as soon as the golf shops are open again.

You like the Mavrik? Thinking of picking up a sub zero!

wbarber1 The Mavrik has been really good for me in the 5-10 rounds I've had with it so far. What impresses me the most is the spin consistency. My usual strike is slightlyy high and towards the toe. So my miss is usually a diving hook with no spin. The Mavrik keeps the spin up for me on that shot which I really enjoy.

How are you liking the SIM max hybrid, as good as advertised?

Eddie Haven't really had a chance to use it on the course so far unfortunately. If all goes well, I can get a couple rounds in next week. I can tell you more after those rounds.

Ordered a white pair of Icon black wingtips on discount and a ping hoofer lite bag. Also going to put a spider mini copper back in the bag. Will update with new pictures when I get them. Also: The Sim Max hybrid is nutty good. I might have to get it shortened a bit, because it goes so far. Genuinely amazing.

Golfingfanatic Black and White FJ shield tips will always have a place or four in the stable. Backup on backups. I only wear then in the winter but I feel like a damn G when I lace them up.

Sim Max Hybrid is on the bench for now and an old faithful makes its way back into the bag for now. The SIM hybrid was a little hooky for me.

Cobra F6 Baffler set to 19* with a Nippon NS Pro FW 950 X. 40.5" total length. Such a lovely little head. You can really trap it out of any lie.

What are your thoughts on Spider (assuming black) of old, and the new chalk? Any preference over the two? I've had both and wondering what your feeling is on the two.

ForeLeft the black and the red Spider Tour heads chip pretty easily. I really like the look of the chalk. Was not a massive fan of the copper and navy heads.
That being said I am awaiting a package from Japan with a pretty sweet Spider putter in it.

Golfingfanatic I had the black one, and only reason I got rid of it was convincing myself I couldn't look at a mallet. Meanwhile, it was the best I'd ever putted....

Regretting selling it, I got the Navy, and as you mentioned, was not pleased either.

I've been gaming the chalk this season and am V impressed!

Eddie it is still on its way, but I can tell you it's a center shafted spider X like the one that was available from the Vault. Was a regular release in Japan, so you can get them a little cheaper from there.
Anyway made some other changes:
5 wood is gone, too. I give up on the 5 wood/2-3 hybrid slot. I hook them all anyway and I rarely hit them as a result. The Yonex irons are benched, too. They are just a little too hot for my taste. I am going back to my 680s. I just prefer the weaker lofts. Since I dropped the 5 wood, I get to add another wedge (will probably get some SM8s soon).
I will add some more pics once I get everything in hand.

Another update:
Gap wedge didn't work out for me at all. I'd rather hit a soft PW over a full gap wedge. The SIM Max hybrid is very long but a little left prone so that's on the chopping block, too. Going into the fall, I think my set up is going to look like this:
Driver: Mavrik 10.5 set to 9.5 with the Rogue White 70g 130X
3 Wood: M2 Deep Face 16.5° with the Diamana W 80X
5 Wood: Sim 19° with the AD DI 9X (already got the shaft with the TM adapter, makes the Sim a convenient choice)
3-PW: Titleist 680 MBs with X100s
SW/LW: TaylorMade Tiger Wedges
Putter: Spider X Chalk Center Shaft

Golfingfanatic I am curious at what your swing weight is on the driver at that length. What weights do you have in the head? I am going to try a 45.75-46in driver using that head as well.

dphatt unfortunately, I don't have access to a swing weight machine at the moment. I have a 14g weight in the back and a 2g weight in the front. Headweight with the screw is 194g.
I played a round with it today and results have been promising. The TD is definitely less left friendly compared to the regular Mavrik. The longer shaft felt pretty controllable and I hit it maybe 7 yards further compared to my old Mavrik at 44.5".

Golfingfanatic I just built my Mavrik TD to 46in with a GDHD6x. The head weight is 188 and the swing weight is D3.5. I have a 2 in the front and an 8 in the back. I will try it out this weekend.

Some changes to report to start the year.

4 wood: Sold the SIM Ti and going back to the M2 DF. Did not get along with the Sim 5 wood lofted down at all. It felt very draw biased to me. The face of the M2 doesn't look good at all, but it will do for now.
Irons: Was thinking about trying something more forgiving, but the 680 mbs are here to stay. I looked at the I210s in the store, but the long irons were way to big for my eye.
Wedges: Sold the TaylorMade Tiger wedges, too. The wedges are cool, I didn't like the two-tone look with the raw face at all. Bought a NOS Cleveland RTX 2.0 raw 52° and ordered a Vokey Wedgeworks 58.04T.
Putter: Was flip-flopping back and forth between a blade and a bigger mallet all of 2020 and decided to get something in the middle and (hopefully) stick with it. Found a Odyssey Milled Collection 6M with the weight kit on ebay which should arrive in the coming days. Will post a picture, once I got everything in hand.

Time for an update:
I've played most of the winter with 8-12 clubs and my play was so good that I am going to keep it at 12 clubs. I think having less options off the tee and around the greens helps me commit to a shot and makes the club selection a lot easier for me. I've also sold a lot of stuff over the winter and this is my set up for now.

Driver: Callaway Mav SZ Triple D 9° w/ Fuji Motore Speeder 6.2 TS - This driver has been amazing for me. Very neutral in flight and spin with a touch of fade bias. Perfect for me.
Fairway wood: TaylorMade M2 Deep Face 16.5° w/ Diamana W80X
Utility Iron: Adams DHy 24° w/ DG TI X100 @38.5" - This club is a fairly new addition, but has been amazing so far.
Irons: Yonex CB-301 5-PW w/ Modus 125X
52°: Cleveland 588 RTX Raw - This is just a placeholder. I am going to order a raw 52° M-Grind soon.

Time for an end-of-year update. Has been a good season for me, but lately I felt the need for a change, so I built this little 9 club set up for the winter season:

I really enjoy this set-up so far. Keeps the bag light enough to carry and makes you think a bit over certain shots.

Golfingfanatic time for another update. Went back to a lot of older stuff that I’ve been comfortable with in the past. Also settled on 11 clubs as a sort of tweener solution betweeen a half set and 14 clubs.
