They put the famed Augusta National at 6? I guess no one from that publication will be playing there anytime soon.

I also find it surprising they listed so many Bandon courses on this list.

Few interesting choices:

I think Pebble at 10 is a little generous
I don't think Pacific Dunes is the best course at Bandon
59 for Pasatiempo seems a little low.
Overall lots of golden age/early 20th century courses.

ckay having played it once in the summer and they had the greens running at 9 I would say no. I would gladly go again to see if my mind has changed. It’s not even in my top 5 played

I have only played a few of the courses on the list so no real opinions on how they are ranked, with the exception of Glens Falls. Are you kidding me? Top 100 in the country? There has to be 100 better golf courses in NY alone than Glens Falls. Oh, and Quaker Ridge doesn't belong on that list either but it has more of a place on it than Glens Falls.

Having played very, and I mean VERY, few of those on the list, I was surprised by a lot of it. Augusta at 6 seemed odd. For some reason I bet the course probably doesn’t live up to the crazy high expectations but I still put it at least in the top 2 or 3. From an Ohio perspective, I didn’t even see Scioto and it looks like Muirfield slipped a bit. Would be interesting to see more details like last ranking, courses that fell off, new courses, etc with a little comment as to why.

A couple times the thought even crossed my mind that it was more of a list to stir up clicks and controversy vs a real list.

Having white bear yacht club at #76 in America (and ahead of all other Mn courses) is a travesty. I think this list lost all credibility alone based on that 😅😅

Some terrible rankings in here. Also, any top 100 that has Streamsong Red course in it is automatically discarded in my mind.

For the record ANGC does not have anyone out for reviewing purposes. Anyone who happens to write for any of the publications is there accompanied with a member. #6 blew my mind but certainly captivated headlines. Prairie Dunes at #18 was cool to see.

From a friend on the panel, it seems a augusta didn’t have enough votes aka rounds from the panelists to be higher. Overall it’s the Ran show as others have mentioned and a shake up based on affinity for the classics and restorations to the original roots. I’ve played maybe 30 or so on this list and could argue some, like each list. The 4 regional lists had some odd choices too IMO.

@ckay I love Quaker Ridge, think the most interesting land in that area compared to the 3 neighboring, and some nice variety on the par 4s. Just played last month again and great fall conditioning.

mattybeyel Hollywood justified? Grew up 15 minutes away but never played. Also didn’t hear a lot of people saying it’s a top 100 though.

As long as my buddy never sees this and would pull my invites ha. Just played again Saturday there. I think it’s a great Walter Travis and green greens, but maybe top 200. That was one of the shockers for me to see jump onto list. Mountain Ridge too although I haven’t played. Main thing people talk about is the steakhouse and cigar lounge, not the course. Hollywood doing some work this winter and complete re-do on 17th par 3 to original design.

mattybeyel Have played Deal across the street. The knock was always that Hollywood was better but talk ended there and I never thought Deal was even top 300.
