KentonQ this review sounds like a person who is more sour that a company didn’t send them a shaft to review for free. Autoflex never states that the 505XX is a double X shaft flex. It is just the name of the shaft. They rate their shafts by swing speed and not flex so to call it a XX “flex” is not fair. The fact that you have pros like Adam Scott, Mike Weir, Ernie Els and Fred Couples testing or playing it should speak volumes that there is something to it. Like every shaft out there, does it fit everyone? Of course not. Is it worth trying and testing? Absolutely. The speed gains I have seen on not only myself but others are eye opening and cannot be ignored. I have built a good amount of Grand Bassara shafts for a few customers and they are great but the shaft is a lot thinner than the Autoflex and would not be able to stand the load. The Grand Bassara even comes with a warning label stating to not knife the shaft while prepping for fear it might break.
I am still testing this shaft and I will continue to report the good and bad with it. I feel like the only way to really evaluate this is to not just test it for a day or a week but at least a month.
I see so many people bashing the price of this shaft while they buy the latest or greatest new golf club each and every year rocking their Rolex, driving their Mercedes to their Country Club. It’s all relative.
I see Autoflex as a company that is similar to PXG. Push the envelope in technology so the others will have to follow which is better for us, the consumer. They need to make their money now because by next year the bigger shaft manufacturers will have their own version of this shaft for cheaper.
I am getting off my soapbox now and I hope this is some good toilet bowl reading material
