With a lot of drivers moving around and the demise of Ferrari it is looking like an interesting rest of the year. I think Mclaren is gonna be challenging next year for sure. No one will be able to top Mercedes though.

I followed F1 for years. Same with Indy cars (when they weren’t going around in circles), would even head down to Mid-Ohio a couple times a year. Got tired of the exact same results week after week. I love a dominant performance and looking back, it was probably no different 15 years ago but I got tired of it. What’s with Ferrari? Are they leaving or just not competitive nowadays?

rrkman Ferrari has a garbage car. It doesn’t perform. They are also losing Vettel next year. I like LeClerc and I hope they can get him in a good enough car to be competitive.

I think Sainz and Leclerc is an interesting line-up for the future. The issue with Ferrari is that there is a lot of background noise.

Fingers crossed McLaren can turn things around.

I'm excited for the Vettel and the soon-to-be Aston Martin for 2021 (and if their livery unveils the team green i'm all about it). Also, Stroll had a one-off meeting with Toto Wolff at Mugello, so wondering if the idea of him going to AM? Fan of Riccardo as he brings a different energy to the grid, and McLaren has continued to be interesting to watch this season. Also curious how the new budget cap will affect the teams across the board.

CKirsch Mercedes fucked up big time in the pits. Putting on the wrong tires on and it cost them the win.

I am super happy for Racing Point and Perez. Perez doesn’t have a seat next year and he deserves to have one.

This race was one of the best as it all came down to the end unlike most races where it is won after the first 30mins.

Caught the last 20 laps of the race and watching the replay now. I feel like Hamilton probably slid the pit crew a couple bucks to purposefully fuck up the double stack lol

10 second penalty for taking out the only guy that might be within 10 seconds of you by the end of the race? Can’t imagine anyone would pass on that. This is turning into LeMans type races with about 6 classes out there on track at the same time. Hopefully the 2022 car reduces that to like 3 classes.

The fact that only two teams are actually currently competitive needs to change. This has been an embarrassing couple of years for Ferrari.

Aren't the wing changes supposed to be enforced shortly? Will be interesting to see if that negates Red Bull's current advantage and Mercedes dominates to finish out the season.

Yep, Ferrari is getting outdone by McLaren in class 2 currently. I understand there’s always going to be better teams but when it is like this and only 2 teams clearly ahead of next group, it isn’t good for F1.

I think they started June 15 but had wiggle room until July 15, so this week might have been the first week. This won’t change overall but might hurt Red Bull against Mercedes and mclaren against Ferrari. Alpine, Aston Martin, and AlphaTauri will still be racing for 9th, Alfa Romeo and Williams for 16th, and the Haas boys fighting amongst themselves for 19/20.

I used to like Hamilton but it looks like he is becoming a sore loser. He wrecked Albon 2 times last year and may have cost his seat at Red Bull and today’s action was totally unnecessary.

Listened to Horner’s post race comments, and while I didn’t agree with everything he said I think he hit target with calling the move desperate. After the two curb stomps Red Bull put on Merc at the A1 Ring, there would have been something very symbolic about Red Bull beating Merc again but this time in Merc’s back yard.

ultimately, think today’s result only delays the inevitable result of Max winning the driver’s title and Red Bull the Constructor crown. The Merc chassis appears too flawed to be remedied; they partially solved the rear end instability issue by running more rear wing, but that’s made the car excessively draggy.
