Where’s My MMT Guys?!

I’m looking at putting MMT’s in my 770/MC combo set. I’ve been playing Steel Fiber 110CW’s for about 4 years. I play them in an “S” flex straight in. How do the MMT compare to the Steel Fiber and which do you recommend for me. Stats are below. For my 7i. I also tend to hit the ball pretty high already and don’t want to launch it any higher.

I have been playing the MMTs for a while now and I think they feel as close to a steel shaft as you are going to get. They are pretty low spin for graphite. The one downside that I noticed was that they swing weight a good amount heavier than almost anything out there. The 105s also doesn’t feel like a 105g shaft to me too. I had a backup set that was going to go into a set of Fujimoto irons but I could not get the swing weight below D5.5 at standard length.

I plan on buying a set of the mizuno Jpx 921 SEL in January and I will be putting 105TX in my irons. Just trying to decide on set configuration.

I hit his TM P790 5i on a par 5 just for the heck of it .... if I didn't know it was MMT I wouldn't know any difference from the KBS Tour 130x I was playing that day. I may land on a set of MMT's once I land on a set of irons staying in the bag (leaning heavily toward Miura MC 501 but have one more set on the way to test 😆).

Agree with Don, the only tough part is they are super low balance point so if you are going over length swingweights will be high. I play the UT 105 TX in my driving iron (its really just a 2 iron blank) and i struggled to get it to D4 at std 3 iron length in my u500 3i.

Overall they feel really good super stable and the first graphite iron/hybrid shaft that I feel I can actually hit down on.
Just ordered another one to go into something special in a couple weeks.

Reviving this thread. For those in MMT, what shaft do you like? I’m going MMT 95 S and the 105 S seems too stout?

I have the MMT 105 TX. It's a bit too stiff for me, but surprisingly playable. Good feel, doesn't hurt the joints.

Think I am going to stick with Modus 105R in wedges for a bit.

Had the 105TX and switched out of them as they flew a bit too low for me.

Switched to the Accra iSeries tour’s in X flex. So smooth and hits all my windows.

Have you guys found that graphite reduces golfers elbow pain? While my arm is definitely better using c taper lites the curiosity is still there

the moment I go back to steel I hurt. Tried x100s for a couple weeks this winter. And while flight was great. Pain was not worth it.

Eddie the shift to graphite definitely works. I tested Steelfiber and MMT but went back to steel after some PT and a shaft change.

As soon as I switched out of KBS Tour to Nippon Modus all my elbow issues went away.

Eddie I am hoping it will help some wrist pain for me. I have arthritis in my wrist (and am only 28), so I switched to 85 gram steel for a while but it was just ballooning on me. Hoping going back heavier a bit but graphite will help.

I’d recommend giving Accra a try. I’ve played MMT and Steelfiber. Have Accras in a set and I really like how they perform.

MMT in my driver though…

So if someone is selling a set of 790 heads with mmt 105 shafts in them for 600 I should buy them because I could sell the heads and get most of the money back right?
