With the extra down time lately and winters in Ohio, I’ve been thinking about ordering some metal hand stamps to be able to play around with stamping wedges and other smaller items. Anyone have any experience or suggestions on what brand to get? Young Brothers look to be nice quality and Buckeye Engraving can make custom stamps as well.

KDBeach stay away from the cheap stuff like Harbor Freight stamps. The most important thing is having a good hammer and anvil. I hope your hand eye coordination is good or else you will be smashing a digit lol

I also would add get bigger font sizes than the typical stamps most people do, bigger fonts stand out, especially if you are doing clean stamp layouts.

dphatt Yea, I’ve heard that Harbor Freight stamps are pretty much junk too. Hopefully there won’t be any season ending injuries with this endeavor. 😂

I bought a whole setup that looks really nice sitting in my garage and not being used. I think I need a better table/surface area in which to stamp it up as well as pulling the damn heads versus trying to do it while attached to a shaft.

DaHOF I think I need a better table/surface area in which to stamp it up as well as pulling the damn heads You probably are, but are you using double stick tape between the surface and the face of the club to slightly stabilize the head? It won't alleviate the weight balance of having a shaft on it but it will help.

Eddie I did, but the tape I procured was garbage. Of course, my wandering mind moved to the next dumb project, so the entire setup has started gathering dust. The garage is in desperate need of a complete clean out and revamp before my "hobby" car finally arrives, so the plan is to update the golf club repair station setup once I get to it. Once that happens, I'll have to figure out a better tape solution.

Looking forward to seeing where this little project goes and I will keep everyone updated with the purchases & progress. 🍻

I agree that a good hammer and anvil is key. I use a 3 pound sledge. I had issues with cheap double soded tape as well. Eventually I just duct taped the head to the anvil. 😆 I used the Harbor Freight stamps. They aren't great, but I didn't want to invest in good stamps until I was sure I was even capable. As you can see, the "w" is garbage. WATCH. YOUR. FINGERS!

This is what boredom will do to you, I wanted to make the most disorganized chaotic stamp layout ever, I title this OMFG hahahaha. It's the exact reaction I want people to have when they see my stamp job. For me I stamp wedges so no one will want to take if if they find it.
