Eddie Back home with plenty of space, time and different regulations, I was a wood smoker guy. Nowadays, given Los Angeles, area to work with, and to be blunt, time and effort, I switched over to a Traeger for my smoking. I have a larger Traeger Timberline 850 which is enough to take a couple briskets, chickens, and ribs all at once. So, with the Traeger it is wood pellets. I actually change up the wood depending on what I'm smoking. Pecan, cherry, hickory, etc. It's all fair game! As for the grill, I currently run a gas Weber Genesis. I think once I move houses (in the next 2-5), I will be looking at a complete build out with a large backyard. We shall see.
Also, with the Traeger and the wifi grilling (everything reads out on my phone and can be controlled), I literally walk across the street and can play 9-18 holes and monitor the smoker the entire time. Talk about convenient, haha.
