For about the last year or so, I've been using the TP5 primarily, with the TP5x on windy days. The ball has served me well. I'll buy a box of every company's ball each year and try. I have a bucket where I throw all my eagled balls into, and just looked at them, and realized that they are all... ProV1s. Which leads me to an internal struggle, the ball I enjoy using or the ball that has helped me have all my eagles? Hm. I'm contrarian by nature, so I've always looked for an alternative to the ProV1, but damn it's a good ball. What ball are you guys using and why?

I'm very similar. I like playing TaylorMade and Callaway balls because everyone seems to play ProV1s and I tend to play them pretty well. Buuuuttttt, I can't argue with how consistent and reliable the ProV1 is so I always seems to have a few in the bag "just in case"

Pro V1x is my ball of choice. Second will be TM’s tour ball when they’re on sale.

I'm a Pro V1 guy, but should just spend more time hunting lost balls on the course and use those.

TFixer5 I bought a bunch of mint Pro V1x PRACTICE balls a while back and for some reason those always stay in play. As soon as I crack open a new sleeve, they seem to love going into the woods. Must be a defective batch 😂

I've been a TP5x guy for a long time, but recently tried the new Bridgestone and really enjoyed it. I'm buying a box to give it a full test.

Still have some K-Sig 4 piece from the OG release I am using funny enough (I don't play enough golf) and before that I loved the feel of TM Project A balls. My game just isn't good enough to warrant a pro level ball but I've also never had a ball fitting so no idea what I should be using. I did used to rock the Bridgestone E6 before I found the Project A....

If I got free golf balls... Taylormade TP5x.... but seeing how I have to pay for them.... Srixon Z-Star XV. On cooler days (not that I have many in So Cal).... Q-Star Tour.

I've always liked the Taylormade golf balls.... TP Red, Penta, Lethal, Tour Preferred X.... but the XV just performs for me (both on the course and in my wallet) and I like the feel.

icec0ld i too gamed the Q Star Tour for a bit and liked them a lot. I say they performed like a high quality ball. The only thing I found wrong with them and this is all preference, is I wished they were softer around the greens and off the putter face.

For years I used ProV1-x. Then when they switched the setup between the ProV1 and X version (wtf?), I kind of started using Chrome Softs (because I dug the different Truvis designs). I played those for a while, and still do to an extent, but kept dabbling with other balls like the TP5x. However, after giving the new Bridgestone ball a try, I have made the switch. I now either game a Bridgestone B-X or the Bridgestone B-XS (I haven't landed on which one I like more yet). They fly off the driver, have great spin around the greens, and it is one of the most durable balls I've ever hit. Overall, it's a winner in my book.

DaHOF I got frustrated with this. I never understood why they did this. I too, have switched, just to the TP5X. We had some left dash prov1X and I would probably buy a truckload of those if I could.

I bought multiple dozens on TP5X at the beginning of the season and feel like they penetrate the wind better than most. But I keep feeling like the prov1X needs to be brought back.

I’m in the same page as @Eddie.... I try all the new balls when they come out but always look bag on some of my best rounds, tournament wins etc and 95% are with a ProV1. The other 5% are with a Bridgestone. I like to play something outside the norm as well because let’s face it everyone plays ProV1’s. There’s a reason it has more wins than any other ball and that’s not just the money paid to play it. I like the TP5X and spent a season playing it. I also spent a couple of seasons playing the Bridgestone B330. If I’m playing in Bent Grass greens I’ll play a TP5X or a Bstone all day. But both of my home courses are Bermuda and hard. Even being a high spin player I can’t make anything stop like a ProV1 on Bermuda greens.

However I recently tried the Maxfli Tour X based on the TXG YouTube comparison, I was honestly VERY impressed with the performance from tee to green. Hard to beat at the 2 dozen for $50.

I wanted to like Snell based on the price and rave reviews online but I've had terrible luck with cover durability on my past 2 boxes.

Some of you will see the list of balls and will remember the hustle from years past. I don’t get too nutty over pellets so I use what I can get for cheap that is still a new premium ball and in bulk. Being so close to the Players I’ll buy the balls they hit once on the range for $7-8 a dozen after the tournament ends. If can’t find a ball in the first 2 minutes I don’t even look and keep the pace up.

I've found the covers to be much more durable than the standard white Pro V1 and have gotten multiple rounds out of a single ball without seeing a drop in performance.

I'm considering going to the Snell MTB-X Yellow when I run out of Pro V1s this time. The old MTB was an excellent value and I've only seen good reviews of the newest iteration. It'll also be nice to save $15 a dozen.
