Here's a rant.

Depending on what fitting matrix you look at, that swing speed range is right between stiff and x flex.

I can't begin to list how many shafts I've played to find that perfect shaft.

Stiff tip stiff?
Soft profile x?
lightweight x?
heavy stiff?

In 2020 alone, here is the shaft list I've gone through.

Diamana ZF50 TX - too boardy
Tensei White Pro 60 s 1" tip - too right friendly
Tour AD VR 6s untipped - handle too soft
Diamana B50 X - too torquey
Diamana S+ stock - way too high
Tour AD TP 6s tipped 1" - too high
Diamana BF60 s 1/2"tip - left friendly

Currently at DF60 s tipped.

Drives me fucking nuts.

I can't be the only one am I?

what current shaft do you play the most and what are the launch and spin combos with it?

Ive always struggled with high spin moon balls. If you need something with a lower launch and spin I could possibly help.

I think that there is no real answer to this question. I should be in an X but my best shaft has been an Accra TZ6 55 M4. Everything says that this shaft should be too soft for me but it works. I am testing a Diamana ZF50X at the moment but it seems like the good shots are very good while the bad shots seem to be off of the planet. I will take the two out today and test them again but it’s like a revolving door. The clubho in me wants something new but the better player in me wants to play better.

I hover around 105-108. The best shaft I've ever played was a limited edition Accra Cs1...but I hit moon balls with it. everything else besides height was optimal (I was playing a 10.5 head at the time). Height of 140 on TM.

So any shafts I've tried after that, I've tried to find something as close in EI profile as possible (browsing the Accra s3 fitting software).

I tend to go with stiff flex, and tip it 1/2' to it plays about stiff and a half.

Currently paying a G410 LST (9º head, turned down to the Big minus...so actually playing loft is 7.5º) and the Ventus blue 6s, tipped 1/2".

I believe club loft plays way more of a factor in launch and height than does shaft. So I get the loft right and just "fine tune" with a shaft that fits my EI profile a la release pattern. Just my 2 cents!

I totally get how good the DI is, I can't recall the number of times I've thought of rebuying that shaft. S or X? And like Don said, new graphics are supposed to be out.

Diamana df60 stiff in a 9 degree SIM head, it's pretty solid, flat ballflight for sure. The tricky part is not getting into a low spin shaft that is anti-left, becomes harder to play shots in both directions.

I’ve been swinging softer shafts and getting better numbers believe it or not. I’m really feeling the HZRD Smoke regular flex shaft I’m swinging right now and that’s at over 140 mph chs. So also checking out softer shafts is something to look into.

joshjacksongolf helps you feel the head weight and timing to unload it perfectly, very nice! Kyle Berkshire does the exact same.

I currently play the 6X in my driver. I also tested the 7X in my driver, with hardly any difference in dispersion and distance. I have the 8X in my fairway wood and that has been a game changer for me to eliminate the big hook.

Eddie I feel that struggle i still cant find a shaft that clicks perfectly. Maybe the 50 gram DF in an x, no tip, loosing some weight while upping the flex could help

I'm in the same boat and it's comical. I have an x-stiff in my hybrid (when I play a hybrid). I've played X-stiff shafts in my driver that seem less "stout" than stiff shafts from other manufacturers. It's all a feel game at this point in my head. At the end of the day, given my tempo, I too always go back to AD shafts. I was an AD DI guy for eons, but in the last 2-3 years switched to the AD IZ instead. Seems to just be a better upgrade than the AD DI (I swing the 6s by the way). The reason I go with the 6 is due to my low ball flight. If I grew up outside of the winds found in my home state, I would probably be gaming a 7.

Ed, I saw your post about the blue board and switching back to the white board. Funny thing is, when I saw you originally post about going to a blue board, my thought immediately was "no way he sticks with that from what I've seen on his driver/swing".

LOL, yeah the BF didn’t last too long, I may keep it around to play on really cold days when the body doesn’t want to move but DF for now.

IZ is a really good shaft, I just wish it was sexier looking. That ad VR would look good on you though bro 🧐

I am in the same swing speed bracket on the Aldila Rogue White 70X that comes stock in the Mavrik has been wonderful for me.

I struggled with this as well. Swing speed is 110-114 and was just fit into the Accra TZ6 CB75 M5, during the fitting it was automatic cannot wait till get it in hand.

AD-DI or an OG Whiteboard. Softer butt profile will give you the feel you’re probably hunting for.

I am in the same swing speed range and played a Whiteboard x flex for a long time. Last year I tried a bunch of shafts to no large success. Then a fitter put my in an Aldila K2NV green stiff tipped 1/2 inch and it has been the perfect combo.
