So I thought I would throw some thoughts up here after using the bag for eight rounds
The good:
- It carries really nice. It has good balance, straps are quite good and it feels lighter than it’s weight.
- It’s good on a push cart. I’m going to push one day each weekend - I’m not getting any younger. It fits great on the Sun Mountain Speed Carts at my club and doesn’t shift all the time like some bags do.
- It still looks super sharp. I did spray it before using it, but it looks good.
- Really good materials. It feels premium.
- I have been using the double strap exclusively, but could see putting the single strap on if I know I’m going somewhere where I’m going to have a caddie (especially if they carry doubles).
The not as good
- Pockets for water bottle and pocket above the ball pocket (where I store my rangefinder) are both pretty tight and they don’t seem to stretch. I’m now putting my water bottle in the small side pocket and putting the range finder in the ball pocket during the round. Neither are dealbreakers, but could be better.
- The apparel pocket is also a little small. A friend who has this once told me that he wouldn’t take this bag to Scotland and I was surprised/confused. I now get it. It’s going to be tough to put a full rain suit into this one.
- I’m surprised by how much I miss the handle at the top of the bag. I guess I had never really thought about how much I used that handle on previous bags. Again, not a massive problem, but it would be nice to have.
- Stupid Titleist leg sag. Why cant they figure this out?
Overall verdict
I still really like it. I like my Mackenzie as well, but if I’m going to mix between carrying and using a push cart, this seems like a better bag for that. It’s easy to carry, looks sharp and works well on a pushcart.
