Difference in wedges

Hey all - just got done with a wedge gapping session and the fitter encouraged me to do some additional research on grinds before buying and even encouraged me to evaluate previous models vs new.

I did my gapping with Vokey SM8s (50,54,58) and currently play Cleveland CG15s (52,56,60).

Any noticeable difference in SM7 at $119 vs SM8 at $160?

CLTGamecock grind to grind, absolutely not.

COG might change slightly but you wouldn’t be able to tell. If you tested same grinds sm7 to sm8 should be identical.

would be ingested to hear what grinds you’re playing in Cleveland Vs what you tested with Vokey. It should be all about turf interaction.

Here are my numbers from today along with a ledger for club reference:

50 F - white
54 S - yellow
54 D - purple
58 K - aqua
58 D - orange
58 M - green

Fitting was all done indoors on Trackman.

Clevelands are actually the Rotex 2.0 not the CG15 in 52.10, 56.12, 60.10. All grinds are two dot.

Also, based on the fitting knowledge base in the group, what would people recommend? I'm leaning 50.08 F, 54.12 D, and 58.08 M

A wedge is a wedge should go the distance you need it to. As a fitter, I would have done multiple tests with you to find the right grind that gives you the best turf interaction. No way to read that from just trackman numbers. I would have to be there and see the marks/hear the ball.

CLTGamecock Where are you from? Do you have a club champion or True Spec within driving distance? They will do a wedge fitting to fit you for a good grind for under $100
