Am I the only one without a Waterproof Bag?

I'm currently on the fence for a non-hipster beater bag, as my old nike digi camo bag is dying.

I'm debating between 2.5lbs, super light but not waterproof, or 3.8lbs, 6 pockets, and waterproof.

3.8 waterproof right?

But then I wonder how often do I need a waterproof bag?

You don’t need a waterproof bag. I use my Stitch as my water/shit weather bag and it’s rarely been out this year. Most times you won’t be walking when it’s going to be bad weather so I wouldn’t look into it.

I have the Sun Mountain H2NO ultralight and love it. I have actually used it for walking a normal round due to it being so light. I do play in Bandon almost every year, so it gets more play than it would if I was strictly in SoCal with not much rain to speak of.

I'm one that will leave to play even if it's raining so I have a waterproof stand bag for those rare occasions.... But really purchased because it was sub 3lbs.

I'm lucky if I use it once a year.

I’m a fair weather guy so I would skip the waterproof. That said, the SL2 will be the bag I use if there’s even a threat.

Was in SD earlier this year pre-shelter in place, and it rained on me. Wish I had a waterproof bag 😅 my FlexTech Lite was not waterproof one bit.

Given all the other gear you have, why not spend the $200 and get a waterproof bag for the times when the weather looks a bit dodgy but you still want to play?

I have a Titleist Sta-dry and it's a fine bag to bring on trips to places where it might rain.

The caddies don't complain about the weight and it has enough storage to keep all my blister tape, anti-inflammatories, Nuun tablets, stretch bands, rain gear, gloves, balls, and tees 😆

All those waterproof zipper seams/seals piss me off. That said, the best available option are the Ping Monsoon followed by the Sun Mountain as long as you’re okay with the NASCAR / Euro-trash logo adverts and a mediocre failure prone stand design.
