Turned on a little golf channel and wow they are ripping Phil to shreds. This bearded guy on the ball isn’t holding back either.

I was really surprised to see Lerner take such a rigid position. He is clearly pissed....and not in "the PGA Tour butter's our bread" so we better slag Phil kinda way. He seems genuinely angry.
Listening to Shipchuk was a little low class considering his book is being released tomorrow. Seemed to take far too much pleasure out of FIGJAMs pain.
This was never going to end well
Agreed on all points. We typically see the host role play narrator and middle ground but like you said, such vitriol lol.
The rumor mill is insane ........ where there's smoke, there's fire?
Isn’t there a Billy Walters book coming, too?
Could get even juicier.
So I’ll preface this by saying over the last couple years, Phil started to grow on me. I’m a big banter guy so I just kept thinking maybe now at his age he’ll be more real and I’ll end up liking him….
But I always thought he was a massive fake. Everything just oozed over the top to me. The thumbs up. The smiles. He was my villain. He may be the reason I refuse to ever touch a Cally club He hates dogs and old people for sure.
I am getting really tired of raking people over the coals when they make a series of mistakes. Phil said stupid things, potentially lost a lot of money gambling, and the list goes on. The media taking pot shots at him to have a voice and get quoted somewhere is ridiculous. Read an article quoting Gary McCord making bets with Phil during tourney rounds today. Really Gary? You couldn't keep that between you, Phil, and Bones? Bunch of loose lips out there.
Quote from Tiger re: post masters
spent the whole day after just like every other golfer, thinking woulda coulda shoulda.
another funny thing: talking about how the PIP was designed to help the players that aren’t top tier make money, oh the irony that he was the one who won it.
it feels like a lot of people are coming out of the woodwork to kick Phil when he’s down. Like how many did to Tiger when his first scandal brokeout.
Could be ambulance chasers or people who harbored genuine resentment towards Phil, either way I agree it’s a little extra this time.
i am intrigued by how much of a strongarm the tour has with its players etc., organizational dynamics interest me.
Eddie seems like it was building up forever and now it's prom night. Appears outwardly there are a lot of folks who didn't care for him but he was just clean enough that he was able to stay on his horse (no, not high horse). He said some really stupid stuff. Norman continuing the stupidity every time he opens his mouth isn't helping it go away.
Anyone getting the Phil book by Shipnuk? I’m really intrigued. The NLU pod with him was really promising. Not a hit piece by any means.
I don’t care where anyone plays golf. I don’t watch golf on tv, I barely play myself. There is more to do in the short time on this planet than care where a bunch of rich guys play a game for a pile of money every week. JMO for all the dumb sports, not just golf.
shank_guru but we are supposed to be outraged about every misstep but our own.
ForeLeft i am definitely going to give it a read
When Phil was good for business in Ponte Vedra, he got a whole lot of top cover and protection from bad PR (as do many other current players). However, as soon as he bit the hand that shielded him it’s been open season ever since. No telling how deep this rabbit hole goes.
Loving this morning threesome, but love seeing Daly and Yang at the top of the board just as much it seems like every major first round leaderboard is a travel back in time.
Jesus, I totally forgot how good Rory is when he’s on
He really does look like he’s swinging effortlessly when he’s on.
