The more I get used to the wedges the more I like them. The 46, 50 and 60* continue to be the best for me. I have struggled the most figuring out if I want the 54* bent to 55* or the 56* bent to 55. I like the look from the top better on the 54 but from a turf interaction and playability stand point the the 56* has been better for me.

I’d also advise going with the higher bounce in your 60* as well. If you’re going with high bounce on the 54* you’d probably do well with the high bounce 60. Especially out of the bunkers.

agadawg1717 Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience with these. Much appreciated!! 👊🏼

agadawg1717 I remember a time that I bought 2 of your has been wedge sets in back to back years. Were they OG Vokey tvd blanks then maybe SM5's or a K grind? I can't remember if you had the indigo's or just the plain jane sm5's that I tried to buy backups for. Years later I ended up with a ton of AM stamped wedges that probably were yours at some point from a completely different dude but the price was right to try different grinds! 😆

Putterho yes!! I think that was the beginning of a lifelong friendship! TVD’s we’re sick!

So the MG2s got me with the little elastomer insert for "perimeter weighting" which I knew was BS, but I love "tech".

Please tell me that the MG3s are still forgiving-esque and I'm sold.

Other question is for the 50, what did the fit reveal about the move to go with lower bounce? I've always told myself because I'm steep I need to go high bounce, but looking for an excuse to go back to a more normal bounce on the 50.

I just got a set of the TW MG3s and played a round. Feel is great (I'm using a Srixon XV), and I absolutely love how it sets up at address. I've been using a 60 with too little bounce recently, and the TW doesn't really dig at all. Aiming to have these be my 2022 wedges, and so far it's staying in the bag.

I am really interested in switching out of my Vokey set, my only concern is the Lob wedge.

I play a 58/8 M grind currently, do you feel you can open up a 58 or 60 with the grind they offer?

pfdz I haven't seen a tm wedge that has looked bad opening it.

Eddie that 60° was so good the time you allowed me this summer .... nothing could go wrong with an upgrade 😁

Eddie good call, forgot about the TW grinds!

I just switched to 56/60 TW grinds, bent to 55/59. I'm coming from SM7 S grind and M grinds and although it took a little bit of time to get used to, I'm really enjoying them. Compared to the Vokey's, they seem more forgiving as they're a larger head and feel softer, almost sounding like a forged wedge. The TW grinds are really easy to hit out of the bunker. I've not tried the regular MG3s, but I'd recommend the TW grinds just for this reason. Off tight lies, the nice deep click sounds make it feel like the wedge just slides under the ball the turf (maybe a placebo effect of the milled grinds), and the tour issue s400s are a nice plus.

Eddie the forgiveness is there more than ever. I didn’t really notice a forgiveness in wedges until the SM8’s came out. They were incredibly well balanced and forgiving. The MG3 is a tad more forgiving than the SM8. As for the bounce…. I dig as well and would have preferred to have about 12* of bounce on my 50. The problem was the 50/8 highest bounce they make in a 50. So I decided to give it a shot. It took some time to get used to it but I haven’t had any issues with digging at all.

pfdz I can open up the 60 and hit any of the shots I hit with my Vokey 60 D grind.

Eddie one thing I learned from the wedge designer that was at the fitting and through trying the TW wedges was that the bounce stamped on the TW wedges is exaggerated by about 4-5*. Without going down the effective bounce rabbit hole the TW wedge played with much less bounce that the High Bounce 60 and even Medium bounce 60. The designer told be that they needed to change the way those wedges are stamped because they do not play with nearly the bounce they are stamped at.
