My 2 and 5 year old are in the phase of loving to play with my golf equipment. They love rustling through the cart while I’m hitting. I don’t really check the cart when done because we live on the course and I have my own personal cart that we park in our third stall garage.

My daughter thought it would be funny to huck my range finder off the cart last night. And my son thought it would be funny not to tell me.

I called the shop today and someone turned in my range finder! I couldn’t believe it. Maybe it was good karma for the wedge I found on 16 a couple weeks back and I turned in?

Most recent one (this year)…

Pops, Ma, and Me all walking. The third hole, we found a club. Group ahead of us was just out of reach and I wasn’t about to run up, threw it in the bag. The next hole, we find another club 🤦‍♂️, threw that in the bag. I already struggle walking/carrying, but I do it for the exercise. Drama Queen moment “two extra clubs is some heavy shit” 😂😂😂. I saw a mower dude and flagged him down and gave him the clubs after hoofing them around for three holes.

Also living on the course has its perks to play a bunch of 3-6 hole loops. Found a ladies 9 iron a couple weeks ago. Skipped 2-3 holes to drive up and find her to give it to her and then went back playing. Who cares if I missed a few holes.

I always try to think about it if I were them. I’d be so bummed if someone didn’t turn it in. Always do the right thing.

I find something at my club once every week or two it seems. I've returned everything from a new iPhone (how it ended up next to a bunker is beyond me) to a new range finder. I always hope it gets me some type of good karma at some point because I'm bound to leave something important out on the course eventually.

Always return stuff I find. I assume we all do on this board. I left a V5 stuck onto the windshield frame of a cart a month or so ago and the cart guy chased me down with it.

I left an iPhone at a Dunkin’ Donuts a couple of years back. I called it a few times from my office and the guy who found it called me back to tell me he has it. Simple gestures like that can mean a lot to others.

I played Coal Creek multiple times this season up near Edmonton. Ironically I was standing in the parking lot earlier this year when I got a call about the Galvin Green jacket I ordered. Didn't have the color I ordered sent me a black one instead.

Fast forward 2 months and I play again...and I lose said GG jacket on the course...that I had worn all of twice. Didn't even realize until a couple days later. Called the pro shop and amazingly they had it. Was super stoked.

I've turned in multiple clubs, towels, etc this year so there is something to be said about karma.👍🏼

Always turn anything you find in. This thread reminds me of one thing though…

@Jaybananapantsarthur and I had a good one this week. We’re walking off tee box on #7 at our place and a guy rolls up in a cart asking if either of us lost a Callaway glove. We both first heard club rather than glove and said no, but @Jaybananapantsarthur quickly remembered he had some Callaway clubs in the bag (it’s hard for him due to 55 sets of irons…..and age). Anyway, once we got it squared the guy had a glove we said no and went on our way.

As we roll up to #9 tee there’s a glove laying just off the box. Guy in cart musta said eff it and left it there thinking who knows what considering whomever left it was probably in front of us on the course and wouldn’t be coming to #9. Why he didn’t just bring it to the bag drop where they have the L&F is a head scratcher, but that’s the way it played out.

Big believer in golf karma and I'll always do my best to make sure that lost gear finds its owner. I've even called the phone number of a guy who had those "If lost, call..." shaft labels that were a thing for a minute (and probably should come back).

I found this knock-off of an Alien wedge and handed it off to a ranger. My only regret was not trying it out because it was wild!

I’ve found a neoprene SW cover and a fancy zippered PW cover last week.

During one of those rounds, the guy 2 groups ahead came back looking for his rangefinder. He said he just had it on that hole and couldn’t find it anywhere. So he’s assuming that either we have it or the group between us found it. I hate that because I know he thinks someone found it but we don’t have it and the other group says the same but you just know he’s thinking we have it hidden in our bag or something.

rrkman I had this issue once. I used my range finder on the previous hole and I didn’t have it on the next hole. I turned around and asked the twosome if they saw my range finder. They said they didn’t see it. I knew I used it on that hole for the approach shot and it wasn’t there. I went to the two guys again and asked if they were sure they didn’t see it. I went to my golf bag and pulled a $100 bill. I asked them if they allowed me to search their bag they could keep the money regardless if they had the range finder or not. They both refused. I then said that tells me exactly where it is. I didn’t let it go and started with an obscenity filled triad. My friend held me back and said it wasn’t worth it because you don’t know what they have in their bag. I couldn’t play the rest of the round and just kept staring at the twosome. They kept falling behind us. We finished our round and I had the pro waiting on 18 with us to have him ask what the deal was. They never finished the round. They had to have circled back and went home. Luckily I knew the staff there and they were banned from the course.

dphatt This story still makes me mad just like the last time you mentioned it. I have a similar story.

We were at a water park, and my wife had gone to the bathroom. She had hung up her phone on the hook in the stall because she was wearing a bathing suit and obviously had no pockets. Of course, she forgot she hung the phone there, but went back right away and saw the ladies who were waiting for her stall. She asked them directly if they had found her phone, and they dodgingly said no while not being able to look her in the eyes. Of course when I called the phone it had been turned off already. Still pisses me off to this day. I wonder how I would have handled the situation if I was there to confront those ladies along with my wife. I'm pretty sure I would have been escorted out of the park.
